You could say the same about Muslims these days. The most consistent portrayal of Islam in the mainstream press relates (quite naturally) to the terrorist incidents which occur almost daily. While moderates may claim that those people "aren't really" Muslims, they are clearly motivated by their religious beliefs.
Just label me agnokapathetic*. While taking Classical Greek in college I came up with that word, which best describes my beliefs in this area.
My wife watches the TV show "Blow Out", about a salon in Beverly Hills, and the boss there actually had a good point while critiquing one of his employees:
"Just do it right the first time, and that's quick enough for me."
Well that certainly isn't true - I used to work for an HMO that was part of a university medical center, and we didn't get any donations (yes, we were our own non-profit corporation, so the U's endowment doesn't count). The best part was one year, we were actually in danger of reaping a huge profit, so one way to zero-out the books was to give bonuses to all employees...
WTF is that? The Japanese do some pretty crazy things to pizza. When I visited about 10 years ago, I remember seeing a poster for a pizza with strange sea creature parts, mayo, and corn sprinkled on it. Blech...
Microsoft is based in WA, and is the victim of the damages caused by this breach of contract (which is essentially what this is about). Hence, a Washington court certainly can claim jurisdiction.
Wow, great answer - the guy wants to migrate existing email out from AOL, and your solution is to ignore the problem and hope it goes away "in a few years". Brilliant.
Although, at first I misread your header and thought you advised leaving the old guy with a POOP client. At his age, that's probably already a problem...
The problem is, far too many/. types grew up playing Virtual Girl, and thus have had their libidinous (sp?) tendencies taken care of as well. Yet another argument against online porn!
I didn't say anybody should or should not do anything. I was simply pointing out the difference between violence between willing participants, and violence perpetrated against innocents. In a violent sport, the two sides enter the game knowing what to expect. In a carjacking, it's a different story. That difference in intent affects the argument about whether kid are influenced psychologically by these activities...
First of all, not all violence is bad. Violence against unwilling, innocent victims is one thing. Teams lining up on a football field to play each other is totally different, since they voluntarily participate. There are many reasons to rag on the politicians who are using GTA for a convenient whipping-boy, but this analogy gets the whole article off to a bad start...
You're onto something there - I would suspect that you could actually raise far more than $100 million if you really tried. Just open it up globally and you could raise billions.
Product differentiation is the key to high profit margins, and corporations know this. You don't see one kind of Campbell's soup on the store shelves, do you? No, because people will pay more for their favorite kind of soup (spicy gristle w/salted rinds, yum!) rather than a simple old standard. There's plenty of reason to dislike the recording industry, but your argument is misguided here...
China's move is largely based on trying to keep demand for oil from spiraling out of control, as the number of cars on Chinese roads increases rapidly. Recall also that fuel economy standards are based on average mileage across all vehicles sold within a given class, and the average Chinese consumer is less likely to afford a big SUV as opposed to a smaller econo-mobile.
My bet is you'll see US manufacturers scale down the size of the cars and motors in order to meet the demands, rather than invest in technological solutions.
And in order to make it "fun", you could always put this information up on the big screen and have the audience play a guessing game as to who's chatting online pretending to be a 16-year old looking to hook up at the mall...
The elders in my village also say that there used to be great houses of knowledge in many a town and city throughout the land, where one could delve through collected text and audio works available to one and all.
Here's a stupendous quote from the Honorable (guffaw!) Fred Upton, representative from Michigan:
"It appears that the publisher has blatantly circumvented the rules in order to peddle sexually explicit material to our youth, and they should be held accountable. A company cannot be allowed to profit from deceit."
Never mind that this title wasn't supposed to be sold to youths (17+), or that it already boasts loads of sexual and violent content.
That said, the facts don't even matter here. Rockstar had a software quality SNAFU that is providing politicians a soapbox opportunity. Betcha those easter eggs will get fewer and farther between, eh?
we've got to ask ourselves if they know something that we don't...
That says it all right there - you don't have to ask that question, especially not if you're a professional commentator who understands the importance of the moment.
Beavis and Butthead would certainly have asked it, but you'd hope to expect more from a professional.
Bingo...
Maybe I should pull an L. Ron Hubbard and make this into a religion!

*I really oughta copyright that word.

Obviously, this guy doesn't do pointy hair.

Just call it "whole body radiation therapy."
The gap filler is needed to keep the tiles from rattling on LIFTOFF. Once in space, we don't need it.
WE? What, are you posting from orbit?
So what does that mean for the team that signs him as a free agent? That they'll make a deal with Satan if that helps them win the Stanley Cup?
Unless, of course, the planet is heading RIGHT TOWARDS PLANET EARTH!

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!

Oh come on, be fair - those new icons are shiny and translucent! Sign me up!

They called it a "library".

Or maybe they worked too well - was the murder weapon found?
Poetic justice... i.e. getting spammed upside the head with a club.
