  1. ex-game junkie on Do MMORPG's Cause People to Buy Fewer Games at Retail? · · Score: 1

I use to buy a new game every week or so, retail.

I started to question how much I was spending on games, and realized how much I was spending on *crappy* games. It had nothing to do with MMORPG's, as I would still go out and buy a game for a break from the level grinding. This is what has kept me from keeping up my previous purchasing habits, the quality of the games that are being released.

If the game industry would stop pumping out such shite titles, and actually take some time to create some games that would interest a person, they could get out of this 'sales slump'. MMORPG's can keep a persons interest in a game for a long time, where they aren't ready to go out and buy another game, true. But, if you go out and buy a crappy game, chances are you aren't going to turn around and buy another one, your going to stick with your current games that are fun.

Actually everything I was using was included in the kit or, in the case of the VGA blocks, still thermaltake and made for the watercooling system. Same setup, push the hose over the nipple and tighten down a nut to hold the hose in place. I honestly could never really tell where the leak was, but my guess was from the connection of the nipple to the actual block.

I don't know much about in a rack system, but I had been running a Big Water system in my gaming rig for about a year, and it developed a slow leak. Mind you, they recommend that you check the fittings every so often for leaks, which is something that I didn't do as religiously as I should have. I had modified it by including 2 VGA coolers, and a leak developed on one of the VGA coolers and a smaller leak on the CPU block.

The leak from the CPU block was such a small leak that it dripped sludge, as the water evaporated before it could actually drip, and the residues built up. Unfortunately, the sludge landed right on the back of one of the video cards, on the GPU connections. Crossfire didn't much appreciate the signals that the video card was sending, and pretty much fried both cards and the PCI-e slots on the motherboard.

The leak from the VGA block dripped on my audio card, and fried that. In the end, I ended up having to replace 2 video cards, an audio card, motherboard, and a 1 gig stick of ram (fried as well, but can't be sure that it was caused by the water.) I can imagine that a leak in a rack would be even more catastrophic.

Hehe... trolling here, but did you really just use the words 'refined and polished' in the same post as the word Sony? Really, though, I don't see Sony having the same success as they did with the PS2. The PS2 was the much anticipated follow-up to the PS1, and while MS attempted to get into the console business at the same time, and spent ALOT of cash to achieve that, the developers flocked to the PS2 because it was a 'given' that it would be successful. This time around, though, the cards are up in the air, and I don't see any console really getting 'killer' exclusives.

Sure, they threw in the Blu-Ray, but copying the Wii-mote functionality, and now following up on the Live service? It seems to me that they are just following on the innovation of the other 2 consoles, maybe hoping that people will think 'Well, the Wii has this controller, and the Xbox has a great online service... but look! I was one of those people standing out in line in the bitter cold when the 360 launched so I could have a chance to buy one. Now it sits in my entertainment system to occasionally be turned on to watch a DVD or smack down my wife/friends in a friendly game of DOA. It is all speculation on my part, but I will be buying a Wii as soon as I can, and can see it being used often, definitely more often then the 360. It is something that my 2 year old can play, my wife can play, my friends can play, and something that I would want to play. Throw in all the back catalog titles, and it might be used more then the cable box.

From just a rough guess estimate, I find it hard to believe that it would cost more to keep them out then it cost to deal with the problems of having them here. While the initial cost might be high, once the border is set up as 'secure', the ongoing costs should drop.

I don't think that any sales tax is coming out of that... matter of fact, it's taking it out of the local economy, which is not going to help lower prices on anything.
