Why bother only shreading documents? I find it much more secure to shread my sensitive documents with a cross-cut shredder and burn the shreddings in a coffee can or other suitable non-galvinized steel container.
Credit card apps are also great for use as kindling while starting a campfire, fireplace, or the bbq grill.
Of course, if you dislike burning stuff, or are unable to set alight stuff, you can always throw limited ammounts of the shreddings, plus some water, into a blender and turn it into pulp. The pulp is good for making new paper, flushing down the toilet, or sometimes for plantfood.
Would it really matter in the long term of things... I would become a crispy critter pretty damn quick, even if I used A SPF 3 billion Sunscreen and one hellova moisturizer.
Straight from Wikipedia: "The heat index (HI) or humidex is an index that combines air temperature and relative humidity to determine an apparent temperature -- how hot it actually feels."
Although, if I was ever dropped into the sun, I'd either be thinking of other things than the heat index, or I'd be busy soiling myself before becomming a crispy critter.
At first, I didn't believe you. I have referred to the Oracle of Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin . You are right, my chem teacher was wrong.
Well, aren't you spiffy, with yer fancy-schmancy GUI tools.. Us hardcore nerds just python to tell us the time:
from datetime import * print datetime.today()
Of course, back in the good ole days, we had to walk 30 miles (uphill, both ways) to get a stick to shove into the ground to tell time. Lemmie tell you, those saber-tooth tigers were mean bastards... had to beat them away from the stick clock with a rock...
So let me get this straigt... If I don't pay my bills, my credit goes to crap and I become a deadbeat. If I do pay my bills, I'm a terrorist.
If I pay for items using cash, it is assumed I am a terrorist. If I pay for items using a check, the Ministry of Homeland Defence will question me for being either a terrorist or criminal. If I pay with credit, Chase (or whatever other company my credit cards go though) will break my legs with interest, plus the same penalties for non-payment or payment of bills.
I agree with you, but I think that it would be even better if CNR could be installed on any Linux distribution. Of course some code tweaking would be necessary, but this could become a great tool for newbies.
I can only imagine AOL using the following slogan in one of their future commercials "AOL: Welcome to the World Wide WTF!" (Although, at least this time, if they use that slogan, their stoc price won't tank)
The funny thing is, according to wikipedia "..."no-brand" video cameras have been sold in tax-free areas in the Far East under the name of "Panascanic". In many parts of Eastern Europe brands such as "Panasonix", "Panashiba", "Addidas", "Tonny Hilfiger", "Rebook", "Eila", "Fuma", "Fike" and "Somy" can also be found."

They could have gone with Gentoo... although the wait for it to compile could possibly be longer than the expected lifetime of the device.
The only reason why I can see them using Ubuntu is the fact that you can have it do a very minimum install. The "server" install of ubuntu doesn't install anything unless you tell it to. In theory, you can do a whole install, and have a machine lacking such normal apps like make or sshd. Compare this to Fedora which is at the bare minimum a 5 CD distro due to how they manage their portage and other stuff.
As for Ubuntu being buggy... The AMD64 port really really sucks (I noticed that LDAP and NFS support is very borken.) Also, their portage is very out of date. On my Ubuntu (x86) desktop, I just upgraded from 2.6.12 to 2.6.14... meanwhile, Gentoo is using 2.6.15-r(something). I can only wonder what version of OpenSSH is installed on my Ubuntu box (Gentoo is up to 4.3 already). They really need to get their crap together on that.
I also hear that there is a great deal of confusion between asses and holes in the ground too.

And if SCO moves to Houston and they replace Apache with IIS, it would then be called SHIT. Oh wait, all SCO products (and SCO, too) already are.

Lets see... 0% humidity, 27,000,000 degrees F... thats like a heat index of FREAKIN HOT!!!

I thought that was supposed to be 15 million Kelvin (Kelvin is supposed to be singular).
Although, as Clippy would say, maybe you meant Melvin.
Yes, but it isn't that bad because its a dry heat.

WTF???
"There can be only one!" (Connor MacLeod, amongst others)
Sounds like the typical Chicago winter...

Don't forget which president supported Saddam Hussein.

"Fucking ricers." - Virtually every Gentoo developer and team lead
My responce to your statements will be in latin:

I used portage to refer to all of those damn packages in .rpm form that are on all of those damn install CDs.

It appears to be an officially sponsored Ubuntu project.
e). Da Bears, you insensitive clod!
No more microwaves to make ramen noodles. Poor students... now they are going to starve to death.
And I thought my Athlon XP chip ran hot... DAMN!
