Yeah, the Master System had 3D Outrun among others, same with the NES which had 3D World Runner for example.
You're right, the Virtual Boy was stereoscopic 3D with no head tracking.
In the 90s Atari was demonstrating a head tracking stereoscopic headset for the Atari Jaguar at various video store chains but it never made it to market. Disney was also demonstrating goggles at Disney World with SGI and had some Aladdin magic carpet demo in the 90s as well: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=...
"If the future pans out the way Spencer sees it. In this scenario, there’s never really an Xbox Two. There’s just an Xbox One being upgraded over time like a PC, but with games developed on the Universal Windows Platform system, they would stay backward compatible despite new hardware. The software platform is separated from the hardware, allowing consoles to be upgraded without needing to move to an entire “next” generation of hardware."
I set the volume amplification to -20db to compress audio, now I no longer have to deal with deafening musical crescendos or whisper-level dialog and can set my TV volume to a sane level and still hear everything fine.
Now if only I could get the same kind of setting on my podcast app of choice ( AntennaPod ) but both that and Kodi are open source so if I figure out how then I'll be able to add in the feature myself! A lot of podcasts I listen to have hosts and guests on at varying volume levels and are not professionally produced.
Switched to consoles for gaming and am quite comfortable to get off the upgrade treadmill. One purchase every 5+ years is much better (and no troubleshooting games/OS/drivers is great too).
They are a last resort for testing bleeding edge software, or a shim to get something more current on an outdated install, otherwise wait for it to hit your repository where each component is at least vetted by a group of maintainers and signed.
I know a lot of people who just aren't focused on anything long enough to discover any nuance or get any appreciation out of it. I was that way too until I slowed down and considered exactly what I wanted out of what I was doing, chose my activities more carefully, and just made myself stick with one thing at a time and see it through. I'm infinitely more satisfied now.
All I care about is if I can hold the phone at the sides without my hands triggering the touch screen. If it helps them maintain a 16:9 aspect ratio then it's fine, it's hidden by a black status bar anyway. If they want a notch because they're looking to expand the screen vertically to 18:9 then no thanks. I don't like the candy bar form factor.
Apparently Zuckerberg didn't disagree with "All the questionable contact importing practices. All the subtle language that helps people stay searchable by friends." because he kept those in place.
If the ends didn't justify the means, Zuckerberg still justified them, just with different rhetoric. The end result is still the same, just given a different name.
Makes sense, I prefer to socialize directly, not through some weird online broker that tries to insert unrelated noise regurgitated from some pop culture zeitgeist repository
Intel was trying to push this when it was clear they weren't making headway in the GPU space and also to push a heavier reliance on CPUs over GPUs (or at least in conjunction with) but it never seemed to gain any traction and was just relegated to tech demos.
Because it's direct and without pretense or preamble, offers references and citations, lets you understand the context by letting you branch out to relevant topics, and they're not trying to sell me anything.
You take a flight and go to party and socialize and have your phone in your nose?
Still, nothing wrong with snapping pics and taking videos, and then uploading later when you're sober. People probably don't need a live feed, plus it will probably save you some embarrassment!
I use the classic desktop view on mobile and am also upset, but at the same time there are better and more positive things to do than look at Slashdot so if I miss a few hours/days it is probably to my benefit lol
Since when do Apple or their users care about prices?

If it's just 60Hz it will not work too well

So Xbox One X is a $500 flop after less than two years, and can't play the new games too?

Look up "octopus power strip", these should be everywhere. As for the man, politely ask him to move his bag.

Part of their mission is a familiar and consistent UI. So far it's been great and hassle free.
How do you resolve an argument with a deranged person? That's a different type of negotiating skill
Good luck with that

Just a square would be fine, and would allow for a decent palm rest as well as whatever bar at the top/bottom while leaving room for work.
Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and IE are guilty as well. Scrap them!
I'm not going to spend any significant time watching video on a tiny phone, so I don't care.

There are never only two opinions on a subject. Now if you believe there are only two sides to any issue, that is brainwashing.

Is it some kind of smaller phone or a different form factor that easily fits in your palm?

I guess we'll see how Nvidia does.

You could see them in mobile mode but not desktop view
