Mine is magnetic? Its based on wacom stuff. Fujitsu Stylistic ST5010.
I have never seen a battery powered pen, but being able to switch between passive and active would be nice.. sometimes I'd like to use my finger over the stylus.
I bought a Tablet PC instead of a new laptop to fill the need of both a PDA and a Laptop given circumstances. It's done that job well, and while it's not as small, it's small enough to keep nearby and weighs so little (it's a slate) that it's easy to hold with one hand.
It's also a hell of a lot easier to work with email and web tasks than on a little 4" 640x480 (at best) display.
There's a Pick N Save grocery store downtown, that's not quite like a normal Pick n Save in that it has lots of high priced specialty foods. Anyhow, it's had this pay by touch system for months now. I'm not willing to use it, nor is anyone else I know. But sure, it's a neat idea?
That depends. Are computers more like cars, or motorcycles? I will agree "Yellow" is the fact CAR color, but Motorcycles, well, "Black" is scientifically proven to be the fastest color.
We must test. Please bring 2 equivilent $3000+ "racing" PC's in beige boxes. We'll paint one yellow, and one black, and drop both of them from the 10th story of an office building. Whatever hits the ground first wins!
Where I live, in the middle of nowhere, my linksys router can't even break my property line from my house (hell, I'm connected via Direcway, ugh). I lovingly named the AP 'plzsniffme' and put no encryption/authentication/security of any kind on it, although it does make log entries for mac addresses not in a very short list.
It's too bad you charge for net access -- looks like I'm stuck staying at stone creek when I visit Milwaukee.
Seriously, I drink 2+ double espresso drinks an hour. Why would I then pay for net access? Stone Creek just uses a dsl line and a linksys router, and its good enough for us sane folks who use TLS and SSL for everything like everyone ought to on a wlan anyway. Why pay for a T1 at Node? 15ms of latency improvement?
I think Linux on TabletPC is interesting, but.. I still run XP Tablet PC edition on mine. Why? I can get most of the software I want (Mozilla Fox/Bird suite, Open Office, etc) on it, and have features that work.
I would, however, move to using Linux on the device as soon as a Linux package that is mature for the Tablet PC became available. Why? Well, that's entirely politics and not technical. And that's the only 'good' reason, because I'm sure even a 'mature' package would have flaws -- but it would be a better choice, to me. The same reason I try to use local restraunts and services over chains and huge corporate entities when possible.
Handwriting is important, though, because I have a Slate. And Slates depend on handwriting recognition to be useful. Is there even a good open source handwriting recognition app available in any form?
They have done two things of interest compared to other MMORPG's:
A level cap at level 60.
A lot of content for people who are level 60 that requires teamwork and strategy instead of more power.
If they can make those two things work together concurrently, it should continue to be fine. I heard numbers at one point that at launch almost 50% of the real content work is dedicated to players who are at their peak level, and more was going to be added all the time.
If you play the game, you'll notice LOTS of unimplimented things, such as Portals, etc. I'd imagine 'Portals' will be the path of creating more content while also running out of land area.:)
Another question.. is there any reason we can't use this technique with RF imaging? That would prevent needing an annoying flash, and robots could auto-detect conflicting frequencies and change them...
Don't forget, people voted for Bush because he was moral and upright. Kerry said he wouldn't drag it out, and he's not. Does anyone think Bush would do the same?...
I wonder if you could build a Fusor off of CO2 with a continious feed.. it might not be very efficent (e.g. it will consume a lot of fuel and not produce anything near 100% efficency), but if you have gobs and gobs of CO2 laying around, who cares?
My RSX and MINI both have them set up that way, the most the variable redline on the MINI will let me go into it is about 300-400 rpm, which isin't much. Sucks much more in the MINI, since the car still gains speed like a mofo all the way to redline in 2nd.:)
Yup. But you also have no way to start the car, and the car will not allow you to drive it with a low battery. Worst case I can think of is if your battery somehow became disconnected during driving, and your engine stalled. But I think we'd call that an 'accident', and your car would've been previously stopped by a large tree/car/home.:)

AWD cars are best, just remember: gas not brake when sliding into something.
:D
(I'm a happy Subaru Impreza WRX owner.)
Low center of gravity + 4 wheels of traction = drive like its a snowmobile.
Apple had a refund policy for this last I checked?

Making a life saving treatment available where none existed is "in the public interest."
Would you rather have an expensive cure or none at all?
pix plz.
(For Photoshopping, of course...)

Why didn't you?
The most kick ass car manuvers I've ever done involve spur of the moment thinking.
Lots of NDE's. Luckily my life is boring so not much had to flash before my eyes.

I'm going to suggest that BG actually ment "Nazi's" instead of "communists" and apply Godwin's law to his argument.
:)
Luckily, the discussion is now over. We win.

I would've locked up my brakes. He'd get fired and I'd of likely lived through it with a new car to boot.
Fuck 'em.
I was nowhere near Mars so far as I can remember. Maybe alien abduction?..

I'm waiting for the divorce papers. :D
WoW sure is going to be expensive, even without that $14/month charge. The $300+/mo alimony payment. oi!
Don't forget, people voted for Bush because he was moral and upright. Kerry said he wouldn't drag it out, and he's not. Does anyone think Bush would do the same?...
I hope you very quickly manage to kill whichever canidate you don't like, wouldn't want someone elses choices to effect you!
You don't have much of a social life, do you? :)
This being all the more funny taking in context that gravity as we know it may not exist, since the earth sucks...
