I don't think they can enforce it... It will probably end up in the UN courts eventually. Where it will sit idle until it is forgotten. -- Get your Free MacMini here
This is just dumb, they shouldn't have to force microsoft to pay fines. If they don't like the fact that they don't provide the documentation that they want, they should not buy their software in the first place. Microsoft never said (that I know of) that they were required to use Windows.

The demonstration only executes calc.exe (if it actually works on your machine). So unless you consider calc.exe a harmful executable, then you have nothing to worry about. -- Get your Free MacMini's here
They are getting a lot of attention on this. I, personally, had never heard of Pajamas Media before this. I'm sure they are soaking up the aftermath of this debate with a lot of free advertising. -- Get your Free MacMini's here
The problem with GTK is the user needs to install it to use the program, while wxWidgets doesn't require the users to install anything extra. -- Get your Free MacMini's here
It would also depend on the speed of the download they host, the file size, and picture quality if it would be worth it. Otherwise a DVD would far outweigh the slight extra cost.

Now it would suck if so many people preordered these and they didn't ship enough of them to the stores where they preordered them, and some people got screwed out of recieving their preordered items. I could see Microsoft getting sued for something like this.

Yes, that is ~876 mil per year. I don't even think Microsoft would be able to afford almost a billion a year very long.

The alphabetical layout looks like it would be easy to find letters on, but hard to type... and probably much slower then anything else.

If you want to write software that works cross-platform try looking into wxWidgets library (http://www.wxwidgets.org/)

Most likly they think Word Processing IS Microsoft Word.
It may not be new, as in it has never been done before... but it is new for NBC to do.
So is the devil guy going to be no more?
More guns, bigger guns, more explostions, more monsters. And now vehicles! Along with no plot to get in your way of killing all the baddies!
But it's free. Great for people who don't get NBC on their TV (no cable/dsl service in the area, and poor rabbit ears reception).
And after they finish printing it, it will be completely outdated...
They must be trying to get people to stop using cell phones while driving by making them paranoid that they are being tracked.
It got to last atleast a week, as this has been out for a week already. But now that its on slashdot China will have an easier time finding about it.
