Parent is exactly correct. This is even a required part of a few missions. I think, honestly, that Godfather: Blackhand is a great example of a mature title for the Wii, utilizing the new types of control available. Great game, if a little awkward at times.
The movie you're looking for is "Cell". It was good and, and i thought it was a neat concept. I have not played psyconauts, though I inted to download it from Steam. I'm hoping it's as interesting as the reviews, and comments say it is.
Yes, it did work well, but there is definatly a big difference. Using the WiiMote is much closer to an actual brush, and I imagine be much easier to use. I only hope they tighten up a few of the drawings..nothing like trying to draw a bomb, and using blossom. My only concern is wether or not the people from Clover were brought back together for this or not. I'm curious as to wether the chances are better of getting a sequal if the Wii version sells well. I admit i'm intrigued by the story enough to wonder what happens afterward.
Actually the best ideas i've heard so far:
1.) The character from Portal, is actually Alyx Vance's Mother. You see a picture of her, with her daughter and Eli towards the end of HL2:EP2. They are very similar if not supposed to be the same.
2.) The calanders in the offices all point to after the black mesa incident, but before the events in HL2. They are obsiously in the same universe because the characters in HL2:EP2 make reference to Apperature, and the slide shows in the offices of Portal, referance fighting Black Mesa for funding.
3.)There is a username and password on one of the walls, that provides some additional information on the apperature science website. (Including the fact that Apperature started out making Shower curtains, or "portals") You can google for the username and password and plug them in. (I beleive it was UN: CJohnson, PW: Tier3)
Overall, i'm expecting EP3 to include more information about Apperature, and perhaps by then we'll have more about GlaDOS and her tie into the entire deal.
... but I would love to see updated versions of Xenogears and Vagrant Story. I know FFXII was close to vagrant story, but there was a great deal of custimazation in it that I miss. The near endless gameplay did carry over well, but it wasn't the same feel. Xenogears on the otherhand was probably my first PS1 RPG. It had an amazingly overcomplicated story line, but I loved the battle system, and charicter interactions. Xenogears was probably one of the most in depth stories i've dealt with outisde of a novel.
Actually, in several interviews, they've clearly stated their reasons for removing nades. Most notable among them was the fact that it blurred the class lines, and that didn't fit in with their ideoligy. The other most notable reason was for the nade spamming, they felt it was a counterproductive mechanic and so removed it. From the way they talk about the 'nades being gone i'd put money on them not comming back, but i can't say it's a garuntee one way or the other.
I myself am not, but a freind of mine is. I've never been that effective with them, but No_legs will clear checkpoints single-handedly. A Pyro/Medic combo can really cook some people, especially if they are camping a checkpoint or corner. They can do massive damage, and the burning effect doesn't go away when your not directly in the flame. Taking sustained damage from the burning is pretty rough, and will knock a heavy down pretty quick if there is no medic to put you out.
I was verry impressed with the beta. I've played several recent betas (ET:QW for example) that were nowhere near as polished. I'd surprised if they changed anything as far as optimization. Small gameplay tweeks are easy enough through steam.
What really got me though is the feel of the artwork. I have always enjoyed the Spy Vs. Spy type animation and this is right along those lines. I don't know why, but it reminds me of 50's boozerunners and their tommyguns. The gameplay is really fun as well as balanced. I think the lack of 'nades in general was a good idea.
My favorite class, according to points and play time is the Demoman. Gotta love the nades.
By far, in my opinion, the best game available on steam, rated on style and fun alone.
I Imagine that would be hard to do, as most companys wouldn't want to put the R&D into making a AO game on hardware that they will not be able to recoup costs on. Just because they have code, it still cost them to make it, and I think it would be extremely unlikely for them to release the code without some form on compensation. While I think there is a large market for AO games, unfortunatly nobody is willing to be seen as the "dirty" or "perverted" console to allow them. It's not good for the everyman's family console image everyone is after.
This has occured to me more than once. It seems that ATI isn't really focusing on the PC Market. With alot of the consoles usint ATI powered graphics anymore it seems to me their support for much of anything on PC is slipping, I imagine, due to the vast ammount of orders they fill by supplying the likes of Nintendo with graphics. This is assuming that they are supplying an actually chunk of hardware as opposed to simply helping with design.
Still, an interesting thought.
Steam is just a downloading platform. The engine is Source. And the only problem i had was with UbiSoft's Dark Messiah, even then it was Ubi's issue. Steam has run great for me. Granted i run Windoze for my gaming machine, I've not had issues with Steam or Valve's tech support.
Agent: "The MPAA is not an Evil coperation, you are not the piratey heros, and this is not the end." Pirates: "That isn't just a movie!!"
Heh, seriously though, i can't see that DRM will even get to the point that it's mutually beneficial, CD's did fine for a good time without all this invasive and restrictive DRM. IT doesn't help the consumer and builds resentment against the MPAA, it's loose loose.
So far so good. It's the day after launch and most Wii owners are still playing or asleep. I like Reggie's idea for this console and any company that thinks 5-6 years is a good console can only be good news. I think the Wii is really is a great possition to sweep the PS3 aside for sales. It's not just the supply train, but the image. So far the ps3 has had nothing but bad publicity about it's launch. It will be interesting to see if they can really provide the number their shooting for.
I'd have to agree that Atari has failed enugh times he's probably very capbable at telling what will NOT suceed. However, the name brand "PlayStation" is still very strong and will probably keep it going.
Free Press.
Gotta love the free advertising and scandals..It's like jack Thompson. It's not a big deal, but they fight it out to get the name out there without paying ungodly advertising costs.
I don't want to see "Additional Material". Most of what stops me from buying CDs is that there is a seriuos lack of variety in mainstream Music. Theese days every other artist sounds like one you've already grown tired of hearing. it's not that CDs are dead, it's the music your selling that has become heartless and dead. Most music being produced and sold in stores are by wannabe celebreties not artists. It doesn't take much skill to sing prewritten words into a studio microphone, and yet sadly that makes up about %75 of the music found in stores anymore. I'll let the others get into the DRM issues.
The only video game that truly good and frightened me was the original Silent Hill. That game was freaky not because of *insert random horror* jumping out at you from the darkness. Silent Hill was scary because it had an amazinly well done soundtrack. If i played that game for more than an hour in the dark, i had trouble sleeping. The sequals haven't done it justice and are turning into blatant gore/scare fests. The first Silent Hill wasn't so simple.

Zero Punctuation is pretty even handed and humorous to boot. Strongly recommended as it's not afraid to tell you the game it's looking at is terrible.

Lets ponder this a momment:
Hey bubba, lets finish this whisky and see how far we can push them rocks..
Fun.. but not likely.
... to get to the sex and drugs on the other side!

I'm not the only one that thinks vista is terrible.
Yeah, as long as they don't use them to power Godzilla, i don't see much damage from these batteries.

Welcome to the Googlepshere... resistance is futile... but at least we dont have chairs.
