It would be an interesting thing to confirm. Do you have a source(s) that can show us that THC production is a recessive trait that will be overpowered by the non-medical marijauna?
The old Slashdot stereotype of being male and geeky would rule out the possibility of the coder being female and on birth control like the patch or pill providing elevated estrogen.
That's the crux of the issue isn't it? What is the cart and what is the horse? If Microsoft is the horse, then is the government putting itself before the horse by changing to an open standard that the horse could drink from if it's led there?
Which brings up the old saying, you can tell Microcoft how to get better, but you can't make them think. Or something like that.
Cost of a spokesperson : $40K a year Cost of a spokesperson with a name that sounds like an advertising gimick of the company: Priceless. For everything else there's Walmart Visa cards.
Perhaps you missed the joke? Running a bunch of virtual servers is like dividing up one machine to do different tasks. A Beowulf cluster is joining several machines to do a single task. So as I see it, a Beowulf cluster of virtual machines is an exceedingly worthless use of both virtual server software, and Beowulf clustering. Someone would be much better off leaving the system alone, or using a mainframe.
We're getting ever closer to the perpetual motion machine, just 25% energy savings to go;-)
Seriously though, I'll look forward to seeing this new chip in production, since more energy efficient chips means less waste heat, and thus quieter computers with fewer fans. I'll trust it when I see it, I'm not so swayed by a company that is still just a "startup" probably looking to get a boost to its stock price by anouncing a breakthrough.
Vista Security - I sincerely hope that's not going to become another famous oxymoron like previous Windows releases. Remember how XP was the most secure operating system ever until a LAN flaw was found, then later Blaster made XP SP1 default security pointless?
If Vista's default installation isn't cracked wide open by a worm in the first 90 days, then it will be a victory for Microsoft.
It leaves the question, what are the other 60% doing with their time? Possible options: reproducing drinking watching TV reading sleeping dancing commuting feeding children working recouperating making lists.
I wonder if this is an attempt by the USA to thwart Canada's plan to take over space one arm at a time? As the designer of the Canadarm in the space shuttles and Canadarm II on the ISS, I wonder if my country has a reaction to being felt up by an American robotic tentacle?
While it's not ethical or legal to launch a DoS attack on spammers, it might in theory prompt the people with the hosed computers to seek professional help to get fixed.
Why implant when you can wear the tag around your neck, in a watch, or in your hair without the risks of a subdermal implant? Put one in your tooth I suppose if you're into pain.
I second this technique. I use VNC and can take a 233MMX cheap laptop with me to get almost whatever I want done while on the road. When there's no spot to plug in the laptop, I just pop my USB key into a willing computer online, and open my my VNC.exe viewer file and plug away.
I've not considered this before, but if there was an authentication scheme for VNC using a unique key on a USB drive, plus a password, then even if there's a keylogger on the computer you're using VNC on, it won't be able to connect to you again when you've moved on.
I may have to yield to your geek cred, but explain how a battery contains "electron momentum"? My understanding is that electrons build up in the battery, so that there is a difference in charge, that once a circuit is available, the electrons flow to the positively charged end of the ciruit, providing power to the device.
"1. What kind of embedded os they are running? I am at total loss with modern cars." I can't say for sure but I'd guess Windows 95. It's the only OS that asks "Where do you want to go today?" and nothing else would make sense for a car. "Humanity to others" just doesn't seem likely, especially in an SUV.
There are reports out of Nebraska today that people with laptops have been seen plugging them into airport electrical outlets, and stealing electrons in an unguarded airport. The Department of Homeland Insecurity has declined to comment on the matter. Details at 6:00
"Microsoft does not need to pay one cent to place its search engine in the lead position on its browser,"
Is MS supposed to pay itself for the right to set its search engine as the default? A possible solution is to let someone pick from a list the first time an Internet search is done, and include Yahoo, Altavista, and Google as some alternatives.
One giant leap for Standardkind. The movement toward OpenDocument in the free world, warms the open cockles of my heart.
I can't wait to kiss the incompatible document blues goodbye. The article earlier today on Slashdot on how to format your document without using the TAB key will be obsolete, praise be. Imagine? We're being told not to use the tab key, in this "Microsoft competes with the rest" world.

The old warfrin poison trick still works, don't worry. Plus we could just breed an army of cancer resistant snakes to take care of the mice.
Oh...
So you agree it's a coverup then? ;-)

I don't think Mainframes will come back in a big way. I forsee virtual servers becoming much bigger, as RDP and VNC protocols get more handy too.
Plus, just imagine a Beowulf cluster of virtual servers!

It would be annoying, since sometimes old Green Memory would work in newer Blue Motherboards with Blue CPUs.

I guess a positive attitude won't accomplish everything.

I suggest Microsoft Windows Forever.
It's the Vista that just doesn't quit going on and on and on...
