    I'll label it the Cartoon Effect, as a variant of the Butterfly Effect.

    Religions, Politicians (be they local, or world leaders), nations, languages, and first and foremost the Danes themselves are mocked in Danish media.

    Not only the Danes. The French as well, the Britons i'm sure, i'd even take the risk to say that all the europeeans, or at least western europeeans are like that.

    But I don't understand the people who truly don't see what's immoral about, for example, running Mac OS X in a way that Apple expressly asks you not to.

    Reminder about morality : your moral values are your moral values, and are not necessarly shared by others. Morallity is something that cannot possibly be objective.

    Therefore, people who don't see what's immoral about doing that don't because they don't share your moral values, or at least not all of them.

    Well, it's very unlikely that you find a planet that, for example, has its temperature constantly changing to carry an advanced form of life. Simply because it's unlikely to find there life that has lived under these bad conditions long enough to have evolved into some advanced form, etc..

    It's unlikely, not impossible, but these guys at the NASA are just looking at the systems where life is the most likely to exist, period. No time to waste with the very unlikely to carry life systems.

    I never played a X-box, but i'm often playing games, and i'm telling you, swearing is no big deal.

    Actually, You are often getting annoyed in some rooms, sometimes even kicked automatically.

    Pick a name containing bad words, mine is Adolf Schwarznigger, and see how long it takes before you get kicked.

    Staying in a multiplayer game is like a rodeo for me, I never know when I'm gonna get kicked or get planted until I change my screenname (but then I get kicked over calling the admin of the room a punk ass right-thinking muthafucka, or such)

    Swearing isn't the concern, freedom of swearing is, at least to me.

    Yeah I mapped that on my controller too, well only for GBA so far, so SNES I don't feel the need for it, at least not yet, I rather feel the need for the slow down and speed up buttons instead.

    No, that's really not the same thing. What I meant is that you know your in the next gen when you got so much more power that you can emulate prev gen, emulating making it more power hungry than just being backwards compatible.

    Disclaimer : Only works on console emulators. But I rarely ever had to beat a boss in a game that wasn't on an emulator

    1. Save the state of the emulator at the beginning of the boss level.
    2. Try to defeat him.
    3. On failure, load the state previously saved, until you succeed.
    4. Post this advice on Slashdot as a numbered list, and resist the temptation of writing 5. ??? 6. Profit!!! mostly that it would only make yourself sound dumb.

    Totally agree. I'm just amazed by MTV Cribs to see all these rich people living in luxury watching 4:3 content on 16:9 screens stretched. You'll admitt that unstretched 4:3 on 16:9 screens is quite bad, that's why I just don't understand why people by 16:9 screens.

    I will never buy a 16:9! 4:3 is by far the best general purpose ratio, even when it's a screen only designed to view video, you prefer seeing 16:9 on a 4:3 screen with the black horizontal strips than stretched out 4:3 content on 16:9 screens.

    Is it a fucking joke? Why isn't there a foot besides the article?

    Having discussed about it in forums on osx86project, it seems quite clear that Apple licensing its OS to other hardware makers like Dell for example is very unlikely, that Apple stopping making hardware to only sell Mac OS X on PC's is quite laughable, but Apple still making hardware and bundling it with Windows, that's by far the most ridiculous idea you could hear on the topic.

    Apple dropping Mac OS X for Windows, hahahaha, YOU FOOL, do you even know what you're talking about?? Please enjoy the sight of your credibility falling like a rock.

    So, your solution is about getting something ripped by someone else of some other CD just because you got the same one

    If you push that logic further, you'll realize that it's exactly the same thing as downloading your 300 CD's off P2P : there's a very good chance that 300 or so are already shared in the network resulting in a relatively free and fast service.

    So don't use some cd ripping service, get em from P2P networks. What's the difference between the two? They both give you the rips of the CD's you have except it was ripped before by someone else with the same CD's as you have, so there's no difference really, besides the price and the convenience.

    I don't know what makes a game next gen, but I know what makes a console next gen.

    A next gen console can run a prev gen console emulator.
