Now a project from Microsoft Research is trying to bring that kind of data mining back home to help people explore their own piles of personal digital data.

i would say their intent is dubious but i already know MS is run by rat bastards, so it's just going to be used against us.

if you are going to love and play a game forever then $60 is a steal. if it's a once through in a week and throw it in a bin then you can go with a rental service like gamefly. i used to think they were full of crap with their rental price but every few months i go through 4 or 5 games because i'm not stingy on a game and researching to make sure i get a good game, so i'm saving a huge amount of money and time. you can also buy games from them which is good because it can be really cheap.

there are options, you dont have to pay $60 for all your xbox360/ps3/wii games.

McAfee, seriously? What, they couldnt shell out a few more bucks to get a guy from Norton? :)

everytime researchers try to make something that can walk/run/whatever, they rely on components that are far less versatile than that which they are trying to emulate. i'm talking about replacing muscles with servos and other stuff. with the recent discovery of "muscle wire" i would think researchers would use this wire to build complex muscles making it possible to replace a lot of actuators with a single complex muscle.

while very cool, i think they are going about this all wrong.
