Perhaps you do not realize that there are many country specific flavors of amazon. AFAIK, it's because of issues like the above. Perhaps someone (significantly) more in the know than myself could shed a little more light on this.
Uhhh, what I'm trying to understand is how this routine is supposed to figure out what the other sides of all of those 3D objects look like. I grant you that some objects are uniform across their 3 dimensions, but most are not.
Naturally, I have not RFTA yet, but common sense dictates some basic limitations to a routine such as this.
I'm thinkin', 2040 for the DEMO power plant!?! Jeez, it's not like they're writing VISTA, for god's sake! Hell, by then we'll all be flyin' around in magnetic powered aircars ('course I'll splurge and get an airSUV(tm)!) By the way, where the hell is John Galt when you need him?
Yeah, I've been trying to clean out the final few bucks in my account since May 9th, when they quit updating the list of latest added music. Sometimes I got server busy, sometimes I was able to connect but not download music, and I did download an album on the 19th. I guess they can't make up their minds whether they're coming or going... (gotta be a joke in there somewhere;-)
allofmp3 appears to be leaving the building, heading toward that "jukebox in the sky". The only thing left is that the fat lady hasn't starting singing yet.
Translation: You can still connect to the servers using alltunes, but cannot order music at this time.
Quite appropriate, given that King chose to loop the Gunslinger back to the first book for his sin of single-mindedness! Hopefully, that's vague enough to not be a plot spoiler for those who haven't read the "right" book while clear enough for those who have.
ps: with my luck it'll be exactly the opposite...
What the hell are you smokin? It's obvious you haven't spent a lick of time in a Win32 command/cmd prompt/shell. Just because *NIX works exactly as you described does not mean that every OS behaves the same way.
And yes, I've spent plenty of time on both Win32 and *NIX shells. They both have pros and cons. I can do what I need to do in both shells. As far as I'm concerned, anybody that says you "can't do anything" in the Win32 shell simply hasn't taken the time to learn what is possible. Having said that, I do like *NIX shells, particular bash.
Nah, I'm not buying that women have incredibly high expectations about marriage. Unless you count emotional intimacy, providing for the family, responsibility, and faithfulness as unexpected obligations of marriage...
And both will save all your data in a searchable database for centuries.
But only by Big Brother, both of the Governmental and Corporate varieties. For the rest of us, the formats will die a quick and seemingly painless death as new products replace them.
"But it doesn't help so long as the story's limited to Slashdot"
Oh, that's a good one! What, do you think Slashdot generates stories like this? Nah, they simply refer to what other folks are already talking about.
Amazingly, this time they even did the referring on the same calendar day. That's like a zero day reference, which is quite speedy these days at Slashdot.
I think an inevitable tie-in will be copy "protection" and malware "protection". The "easiest" way to do this is to force all content to come from white-listed conglomerates via DRM style technologies. That would be a death-knell to open source software, indie music, and many other bottom-up forces of good in the Internet.
Gotta love a company name like that, considering what they did. I guess they hadn't considered that it's possible to make money without stealing. Sure offers a contrast to companies such as Google and Mindspring, who espouse (and seem to live up to their claims) that they can make money without resorting to "evil".
If each zero-G portion lasts less than a minute, it shouldn't be too difficult to find "stars" that can complete their "activities" within that time frame. I mean, why shouldn't folks suffering from premature ejaculation be able to contribute to the porn industry!
Gives a new meaning to the term "rootkit", doesn't it?
Uhhhh, what do you think this is, Wikipedia?
I think you meant MSGOATSE (MicroSoft Genuine Operations Analyst Technical Systems Engineer).
*holding pinky to mouth* I demand one million dollars for my landscaping endowment! Muwahahaha....
Well, if ya gotta die, ya might as well die bold.
Sorry...

I think if you can get Opera and Mozilla on board, then I think Microsoft will be forced to follow.
Really?

Perhaps it's his apathetic attitude.
Computer: Get your filthy *&^*( off of my screen!
User: That's not mine. It's his.
Computer: Is that supposed to make me feel better?
Well, your URL was amazing, anyway... ;-)

No, I'm pretty sure that blown-up robots, even those with an emotion chip, won't feel bad for their human "buddies" that survive them.
Bless you, KFG!

God, I hate where this is heading...

Hell, at first blush, I was wondering whether Novell was trying to diversify...
