I run my own servers from home, that not a problem, I have both POTS and SIP for phones.
I have access to maybe 20 different ISPs whom offer variations on the service plans, not all have unlimited but over half do. And next year I should be moving over to 100/100 fibre at no extra cost.
The naked DSL costs NZ$75/month (US$52), though ATM I am on a "special" for 12 months where I pay NZ$55 (US$39) [or there abouts]
My ISP can be located anywhere in the country because they ALL have to pay the same wholesale rate for the line and that rate is set by a government body.
By 2020 (I think) 95% of NZers will have access to broadband (fibre or high speed wireless for rural areas), ALL NZ schools are connected already.

Yes I appreciate the wireless, however leaving out the socket is putting form over function, and no its nothing like having a keyboard on the screen vs pull out keyboard.
And NO, I dont want to buy a bloody dongle.

Too many movies are now about how many or how big the special effects are, plot, coherence, dialog all be damned. 3D is a fad, it does nothing to improve a crap movie and often ruins a good one. Equally the sound in theatres is often so loud you really wonder if permanent hearing damage has occurred.
A DVD can be played multiple times, in any locations that has a DVD player. It can be paused, rewound, replayed, skipped forward all on demand. It can be loaned to friends and family, it can be on sold, it represents far more value than iTunes does. I have NEVER bought a digital download movie and have only ever bought 1 "CD" on iTunes , I prefer to buy physical media that I am in control of. Even better I buy 2nd hand media paying $2-5 for a DVD and less for a CD.
Like most things, the only ones you hear from are the 5% with a complaint the 95% who are happy rarely say anything.
