the navy plans on having rail-guns replacing the 16 inch guns on ships by 2011 (wikipedia rail-guns article) - in the same manner, the US military is also looking into using rail-guns to replace mobile howitzers (such as the M109 Paladin)
yes but with that you are limited to ONLY 128MB, whereas with the one he suggested as long as you dont care about screen quality, you could get that and a 1 or 2 gig sd card and have a player with as much memory as one of these Sandisk m250 2gig, or Mobiblue 2 gig "box", which cost about 120 to 160 USD, and when you run out of space, you can get another sd card as you need it, effectively enough swapping cards out like a cd player for unlimited space (by how many cards you have), vs a player with builtin memory, you have to delete songs
watch the bob ross episode of the boondocks, and you will realize just how crazy the guy has to be - I mean cmon, painting "happy little trees" is the highlight of his life...
for the ROKR (I know it was, at least supposedly, a total pos) and another model or other thats supposed to be better than the ROKR (both are supposed to work with iTunes, right?)
Correct me if I'm wrong (about my argument or the phones), but that looks more like cooperation than competition...
WHY? Apple already releases a new iPod every 6 months, why one now just for the anniversary date? Wouldnt something like the video iPod count as such a product since it was released this year (or was it released before the new year? cant remember)?
if you think about the statement - its clock speeds between intel and amd chips - amd chips tend to round off around 2.2 or 2.4 ghz, and perform better than intel's supposed 3 ghz p4s
and people were bitching about how cell is supposed to be a pain in the ass to develope for... now they'll be thinking they've got it made in the shade!
Hey, with the DMCA, anything's possible! Well, what do you say Microsoft? O'Reilly's got deep pockets!
PLEASE dont give them ideas, if that puts Oreilly out of business or keeps them from putting out books on how to use basic word processing software, it'll mean more people wont be able to read those books, meaning there'll be more people asking insanely stupid questions on how to use M$ word ("For the 80th time, *this* is how you change the font size"), making less time for us to be posting on glorious/.
the pokemon series was much more clearly marketed towards little kids - it doesnt sound good with kids yelling and screaming "DIE DIE DIE" to a pokemon in front of their parents, whereas yelling and screaming "FAINT FAINT FAINT" doesnt sound so bad - its not good to keep your game from getting bought cuz of parents that control what their kids buy cuz it "makes" them violent and want to kill stuff
its just like with myspace - why the fuck are you worried about privacy unless you are doing something stupid like telling the world you smoked marijuana the other day and other stupid crap like that - dont post shit on the net if you dont want it in somebody else's hands, whether its about drugs or how you pirated something or other
that or they will risk violating anti trust laws by using the damn hell windows genuine "advantage" browser control crap to limit it - only recently has firefox been able to read through that crappy thing
1) my penmanship has always been *ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE*, and many of my teachers throughout the years have begged me to type out assignments since damn near anything I wrote down with a pencil was unreadable, sometimes even I would have to take a minute to figure out what I wrote down
2) some people can honestly type faster than they can write, even if they are looking at the teacher and typing
3) it is insanely easier to go back and edit parts of my notes since I got my laptop this year and started using it for notes - EVERY teacher tells you something, moves on, then goes back and tells you something else vital to that first part - being able to type notes in OOo I just go back in my bulleted list and append that topic, and go back to the bottom of the page in my notes where the teacher was before he backtracked
is on documents on government servers, because as with tfa the visually impaired might be using screen readers that will only really work if the page is standards compliant (for the most part) - its called ADA standards or something like that I think, and for as much as I care, it means that I couldnt make my site in kick ass Flash (its a college workstudy thing for a city/community sponsored organization for getting old people to socialize and its on the college server, which is government supported, and we are governed by a very picky board which you never know what they will get picky about, just might be accessablity)
I cant imagine NA importers being big %

Region-free PS3

I cant imagine many North American gamers or those of any other country importing virtually every game they buy, so the import percentage of the market cant be much, so I doubt it makes much of a difference in their profits as far as I can see...
So I think its great that its being souped up, the only reason I would EVER use outlook over thunderbird is calendars, but that would be if I used em in the first place
maybe it seriously could if the power requirements of the particular chip are low enough, maybe the salt/other minerals could make the liquid acidic or whatever like regular batteries and provide just enough power...
Firefox/Netscape, Safari, and any other browser superior to IE can be used in just as an "uncomplicated" way - do I personally use RSS directly? no (except through my Google portal, but aside from that). Do people have to use tabbed browsing? no, but I would think once they find the convenience of it, they definitely wont go back to pre-tabbed browsing. Do people have to go through the extensions list and pick a bunch out? no, but it sure makes it easier to manage extensions than IE with BHOs, and can sure tweak the browser to more you liking functionwise.
much more likely is what the rest of us have already accepted, that the common person is just too stupid to know about or even *want* to know about anything else as long as what they are using works - and usually even if their machine is riddled with spyware, they'd rather go to Best Buy and get their wallet raped strait outta their ass for *tech support* to run a scan or reformat the drive, AND leave them stuck with IE afterwards
So the guy mistyped/mixed up TWO words out of his summary - and its even more likely that the typo is the fault of the author of the article. How can you say he has bad spelling/+grammar/+word choice when the summary was not only written better than much of the quickly typed out stuff on/., but better than most of what you would see in "professionally" written memos in fortune 500 companyies?
so if you dont wanna insult Madden or other sports games, look at the Pokemon series - yes, it was popular at one time, but then they just started making crap sequels to get little kids who are just now hearing about pokemon into buying the games
also, look at the Halo series - the first one sold great and I wont deny it had a decent story or multiplayer gameplay (except when you got bastards sitting on one side of the map camp/sniping from the same place every time, and the only way to take em out is doing the same) - but IMO one of the biggest reasons people bought Halo 2 was they knew the first was so great they expected the 2nd to be great also, and this is fine - but now there is supposedly a Halo 3 in the works, and you cant deny that one of the major reasons its being made (if at all, not sure if its a rumor - I'm not an Xbox/+Halo player/fan so I dont follow it) is that they expect Halo 3 to sell well because # 2 did...
looked at the article, then the link in the article to another about the device that produced the temperatures, which basically sounds like either a rail-gun or a gauss-gun/coil-gun - so maybe the temperatures were caused by air friction? (the second article said when it launched whatever it shoots, the projectile accelerated at like 10 Gs
Hell, there's nothing wrong with CRT, they're a helluva lot cheaper than thin-panel lcd screens, leaves me a few bucks extra to get better hardware - do I care if I wont be able to watch BD movies at their fullest definition/resolution potential, I dont get HD tv or movies now, and I dont run my 17" monitor - desktop or games - anything over 1024*768, so as far as my personal preference at least, I dont give a damn if Vista/new monitor crap DRM will prevent me from nice high res movies...
But then again, thats just my personal preference...
"spring is in the air"/building game is fun, original too, not like the other keyboard driven clones of games that have been cloned so many times, the "Joe Sixpack" browsing the net for games probably thinks the clone is the original...

also, from the way it looks, the Air Force will use the F22 like they will have one or two squads the same way the F117 is

I thought that 63 diamonds (one carat) meant 63 diamonds in one carat EACH - then again I might have been the one to read it wrong...

which is why next time you visit them, you install Firefox and possibly Spybot on their machines :)
