    And I can't remember the source, but IIRC Apple said that updates didn't count toward the "1 billion apps downloaded"
    Though, if you do the math, there have been something like 40 million devices sold running iPhone OS. That'd put the apps downloaded per device somewhere near 25, which sounds a little bit high.

    I'd also like to point out all the urine/feces/flatulence-themed apps on the app store.

    Except XFCE is GTK+ based, so you get those libraries loaded whether you run GTK apps or not.

    Well, I mean X/the kernel has been mostly stable, with a couple issues related to resuming from hibernation. PulseAudio's still a bit stability-challenged, though.

    My G45-based system's not too bad. There are some weird graphical glitches, but it's been stable ever since alpha 6 or so.

    I'll take your distro from 2003 or 2004 and raise you a Ubuntu Dapper Drake (released June 2006).

    Technically, it's still supported for another couple months on the desktop and another couple years on the server.

    Strangely, there's a completely enclosed fixture in the kitchen here.
    I moved here in June 2006 and went through 4 incandescent bulbs (2 sets of 2) in about 3 months. I then replaced the bulbs with CFLs, and the bulbs still work, over 2 years later.

    I think the wiring in this building is horrible, though.

    I bet he thinks Clinton was commander-in-chief on 9/11, too. Don't laugh. I've heard it said on "conservative" talk radio.

    To be fair, Clinton does deserve blame for some of what led to 9/11, even though he wasn't in office on 9/11.
    Then again, the blame goes at least as far back as Reagan giving Osama weapons to fight the Soviets with.
