Yeah, but aren't vinyl sales increasing at the moment. I remember watching something on CNN where a band released an album on vinyl, and included a key and URL so you could download the mp3.
On topic, most of the banks here are Australian owned, so I don't think many people cared if they lost a little bit of money. In any case, I'm all for some small advantage if I can show that I keep uptodate antivirus software on my computer.
My bank has just released a systemwhere I can add an extra authentication using my mobile phone, so I can make online transactions of up to $10,000.
I listen to the ABC radio podcast called 'the science show'. Going by that, science reporting in Australia is fantastic. I'm in New Zealand, and I hear more interesting stories on the science show about New Zealand scientists than I do in the regular media.
as far as games go. Size will matter less as downloadable games become more of a focus.
This is funny, as I remember saying a similar thing 10 years ago, as I thought PC development should concentrate on making games that could be easily downloaded over a 14.4k modem for ease of distribution. Doom did well out of that idea.
Do these trends corrolate to DVD? I assume the numbers would be higher for DVD, but is the overall trend the same, with a sharp drop off in, say, the top 50 DVD sales. The same goes for CD music and movie ticket sales.
that Harrison was trying to make. He was drawing parallels between web2.0 and game3.0. There has been user created content in the internet for ages (message boards etc), but it has only recently really changed the concept of content/information on the internet (wikipedia etc). Game3.0 will drive the video game industry in a different direction.
I thought the concept was an elegant summary, really.
and I'm sure it's already been said, but there's nothing wrong with the fuel. It's the whole cutting down trees thing that's bad.
I read in Nature recently that hydrogenerated power had a suprisingly large impact on greenhouse emissions as usually when dams are made, there's a lot of trees that are flooded, which ferment and produce a lot of methane.
In a recent interview with Gamespot, Eiji Aonuma, Nintendo's manager of software development, commented on the 'gamer drift' phenomenom. I understand this as a shrinking of the Japanese video game market. This effect rationalises Nintendo's decision to create a 'console for everybody', and Sony's commitment to create non-game/community based content for their new system (ie Home, Singstar, LittleBigPlanet).
My question to Mr. Harrison is how does he see the 'gamer drift' affecting the future of the video game industry?
the reflection of science back onto ourselves? Solaris is a good discussion on the short comings of science when it reaches problems that cannot be solved. A main theme of Dune was the how science can become the undercurrent of a society, even with a large faith based layer on the top.
Science fiction is better suited for a 'philosophy of science' course. That's just my opinion.
It's all about hardware that works. It's great that I could buy a computer with Ubuntu on it, but you know I'm going to format it the second it comes though the door and install what I want. When I install what I want, I WANT it to work, because the kernel has supported that hardware since version 2.6.whatever.
but gets only 5.4% in this survey. I don't understand what's going on.
So what's the big deal at the end of the day? It's a shame, but the Nigerian goverment could have just NOT gone with Mandriva at all.
The thing has no gears. I bet it would be much more effective if it had shimano gears, and 5x more dangerous!

I gave my credit card to my gf. Someone buy this domain quick!
Where else do you expect the FSF to get money from to protect the GPL?
Anything going back to the FSF?
Now THAT was terrible!

Is that a slim ps2 or a old ps2, and what's the longest you've had it up before?
I'm quite impressed. Is this going to burn the CPU out really quickly?
doesn't count! He'll never be able to get a CS job with that!

isn't it, considering the CO2 poles are now melting. What effect is the new atmospheric CO2 having on the surface temperature on Mars?
I thought the whole gizmondo thing was dead in the water.
