I spent ages trying to switch people too. Now I just show them the 'door' and they are the ones that have to go through it. Linux requires an enthusiastic user if that user is the one who is going to administer it. Its usually easy to set up (Ubuntu) and once its set up it works fine day to day, but like with anything (cars/plumbing/Ikea products) it takes a certain amount of 'competence' to make adjustments. While you have more control over Linux than Windows, with that control comes great responsibility, and some users are just not cut out for that.

That sums up manufacturing in the USA, so what problems did they have in China?
and TFA's title is "Iranian video game offers chance to blow up U.S. tanker"
Wow, they forgot to mention that playing BF2 gives you the chance to:
- Shoot a US soldier directly in the face
- Blow up all manner of US vehicles, tanks and helicopters
- Sneak onto a US battleship
- Destroy Ground Based Radar
- Hang out and snipe US soldiers as they spawn
- Save your crew with the kit you stole of a US medic
- The US commander is the one on the outside of the ship laying down.
BF2 is far more dangerous for teaching terrorists how to hurt US forces... it should be banned too.
No, it is _not_ all about the mass. It also about the square of the radius. If you are really an aeronautical engineer you can do the math.
u'm dude... we know the approximate size and its approximate RPM... but TFA didn't mention the mass (or its distribution), Or the orientation of said mass or relitave rotational direction of masses (one compressor might spin one way and the turbine or the other compressor might spin the other)..
>>> Have you ever seen the results of a *contained* failure?
I'm an aeronautical engineer (although Avionics bent) and get sent pictures of contained and uncontained failures and crashes all the time. Yeah, as someone ^ pointed out, its all about the mass. If you can contain it then great. I'm just sayin.
SO this thing (with tiny mass) spinning at 1 million RPM going to have much gyroscopic rigidity? I guess you might need a few of them all orientated the same way before they'll stop you from turning a corner and push you into the concrete.

Are these big companies likening it to hiring a reformed bank robber as a teller, or a paedophile as a teacher?
Anyway, I thought the biggest part of being a 'black-hat' was to keep your online identity COMPLETLY SEPARTE from your real life ID... A big company should have no idea they've employed a 'former' black hat - at least if they were any good at it. If they got caught then he/she might not have the attention to detail you require for an employee in that field.

PNG [Portable Network Graphics] was created to both improve upon and replace the GIF format with an image file format that does not require a patent license to use.
so, with a free alternative, why use GIF up to now?
I also did a quick search of common file types on Google*
GIF 519,000,000
JPG 777,000,000
JPEG 111,000,000
BMP 44,700,000
PNG 111,000,000
So GIF is not all _that_ dead.
* = Results could mean anything really - PNG could be Paupua New Gunnea, and BMP could be best manufacturing practices.
You forgot an important point (1 a); Avoid responsibility for your own actions
I'd say the killers parents hold some of the responsibility for their childs actions. They should have recognised violent behaviour from the game coming though to 'real life' and should have taken action - teaching the child that acting like that is unacceptable. Of course this does not happen 'in real life!!!
There is no way the killer went from 'normal kid' then played a bunch of GTA and became 'insane murderer'. He would have developed his violent tendancies over time, and his parents should have picked up on this.
And where the fuck did a 14 YO get a loaded gun from? - They have a lot to answer for.
Further, if a nuclear attack does happen, you MUST show that you were never bluffing and respond with nuclear weapons. To make things even uglier, your nuclear attack must be so devastating that no nation would consider it a worthy exchange.
I guess that makes it really really really important to get the right Country then.
I'd put money on it, that if anything resembling a terrorist attack happens on US soil in the next few years and no matter where the culprits come from, it'll be pinned on Iran.
good points, you got me there. Well done.
