Artist: Look, look. Look, this is what I was asked to build. Eighteen inches. Right here, it specifies eighteen inches. I was given this napkin, I mean... Ian: Forget this! F**k the napkin!!
Absolutely, assuming that by "run basic physics simulations" you actually mean "nail random shit together in a crude attempt to create a missile-launching airship."
A man has an idea. The idea attracts others, like-minded. The idea expands. The idea becomes... an institution. What was the idea? See, that's what's been bothering me boys. But I'll tell you, when I used to think about the idea itself, I'd put a big old smile on my face.
You see, gentlemen, greed is for amateurs. Disorder, chaos, anarchy... now that's fun!
I know this is/., but try and be less anal about vocabulary choice. If I say I'm switching to a 'new' email service, that doesn't mean that email service necessarily just popped into existence. It could just mean that I haven't used it before.
My friend used to have the license plate "UHC 666." It was a completely legitimate plate, not a novelty one. Being the heathenous scoundrels we are, we liked to believe it stood for "You hate Christ, 666." Unfortunately, since it was his Michigan grandparents' car, he had to get a new license plate =/
Oddly enough, I like (parts of) Load, Reload and St. Anger. Something is clearly wrong with me (time to check myself into an asylum), but hey. In any case, I would still prefer more older tracks in the lineup, and my guess is they will be throwing older stuff in there too. Or, at least, I hope... won't be buying it if I can't play Call of the Ktulu and The Thing That Should Not Be.
Who do you think decided to make Guitar Hero: Metallica? I kind of doubt it was Metallica. Activision was probably like "Hmm...what major metal band could we use to milk even more money out of our GH franchise?" and their greedy, grasping hands finally rested on Metallica.
I suppose it could be the other way around, that Metallica commissioned the game, but I kinda doubt it. They probably thought to themselves "what the hell, it can't exactly hurt us" and agreed to it.
So, I don't think it's just Metallica trying to "win back fans", exactly. Maybe they saw that as a possible result, but who knows.
Over in America they don't block your website. They read your e-mail, & if they think they might not like you, they kidnap you without charges, torture you for a few years without trial & then release you like 'Oops! We made a mistake. No hard feelings hey! BTW. We're watching you.'
The difference being, in Russia, they don't release you at the end.
P.S. I just followed up an "in Russia" clause with a statement in normal order. What is Slashdot coming to?
It's not about profit (all of which likely just goes straight to the lawyers). It's about instilling fear into the consumer base, in the irrational hopes of scaring them out of downloading music.
Why do US people believe their country is a leader in everything, when cold, hard numbers eminently suggest otherwise?
You have cold, hard numbers regarding the "rule of law and technocratic mechanisms in place"? Numbers which are capable of eminently suggesting things? I would love to see those. Personally, I can't even figure out what that's saying.
Well, if you're looking for a replacement, I've tried out two streaming music sites recently that are pretty good:
http://www.imeem.com/ - Like youtube, but for music I guess. It has a lot of good playlists, even for my doom metal tastes.
http://www.pandora.com/ - Streaming internet radio, dissimilar to imeem in that it randomizes what it will play for you - though it tries to play music similar to what you like/tell it you like through some sort of algorithm. Good for finding new stuff. I found Electric Wizard here.

Looks to me like they don't really want to be associated with this. In fact I'm having trouble figuring out just why they bothered with the whole thing.
I guess that won't stop the oncoming shitstorm of unfunny MS-bashing, though. *pours gasoline on karma*
Basically 'it floats and does not sink'.
When you start a message in the title bar, write a bit in the message
I'll bet it went something like this...
Artist: Look, look. Look, this is what I was asked to build. Eighteen inches. Right here, it specifies eighteen inches. I was given this napkin, I mean...
Ian: Forget this! F**k the napkin!!
Then in that case, why is he purposely hindering his typing speed? If 'qwerty' is the faster input method, using Dvorak seems pointless.
Unless he's a masochist with poor spelling typing on a Dvorak keyboard... in which case, everything is explained!

Best reason to quit. Only reason to quit.

Yeah, but '73.38% compatible'* just doesn't have the same ring to it, you know?
*Number pulled out of ass, just so y'know.
It will resemble Slashdot's userbase, then?

I believe this story, which has a video, is about the same robot. And if not, close enough.
They realize the only way to win is not to play?

But it's already got Oblivion in it... that's going to be a nasty feedback loop.

We don't a book to identify terrorists, we just need Clutch:
You can always tell a terrorist
By his cologne and the watch on his wrist
It says, "I'm the kind of man
Who can take off anywhere, take off anywhere."
Clutch - Power Players

You totally just jinxed it. Mark my words.

So, how soon until we find out that gas-pumping robots, too, can die in freak, gasoline-fight accidents?

Is Zhang in charge of Gundam, too? Somebody's got to be.
