I agree with the poster. I'm one of the lucky Americans who works at a decent corp that gives us, say, the whole week of the end of December off, and observes NYs if it falls on a Sunday. I know people who worked all week except Christmas Day, and had to be in on Monday the 2nd... That's pretty weak. We also get Monday July 3rd off just cause it's sandwiched in the middle there... But this is not the standard. American small business owners, in my experience, are greedy. They want people in every day, the salaried people to minimum 55hrs/wk, and then they stroll in at 11, if at all, and are in the office a total of MAYBE 20 hrs/wk. World peace is being discussed later this month at a global summit, including despot leader Kim Jong-Il of North Korea and the heads of every major country in the world, with many saying, "The time has come to put aside all differences and make the world a place for our children. The ID movement is out of a fear of their own ignorance. You see the same thing in children who will make up erroneous and very complex stories to explain something. We do it to them, it's really our fault this whole ID thing is so rampant, like herpes in a whorehouse.

To paraphrase Cypher, "Why oh why didn't I refuse to teach them about Santa?" For some of us the Santa-clause is the catalyst for an awakening into a lifetime of agnosticism or aethism, for others it is a latching point that prevents our future growth beyond the fear/need of an invisible and mysterious benefactor beyond comprehension controlling everything behind the scenes. The sheer terror of a world out of control is too much for their simple minds, and they are frozen in a child-like state.

I, personally, don't hold any illusions of God or a God-like being, while I will remain agnostic because while there is no proof of God, there is also no proof of No-God, so I will sit on the fence and watch the rabble rousers on both sides. I'll side with atheists any day over blind believers, however.

You cannot rationally argue with the utterly irrational, the belief is based on some arrogant, ignorant, fearful personal NEED to have that. I, too, am disappointed our friends over the pond must now face this dilemma. How, oh how, do we get them to take the red pill???

For those of us who have self-exited the world is that much more fantastic, chaotic, beautiful, and complex BECAUSE none of it could have happened were it but for a different flap of a butterfly's wings, a shift in wind, or what have you. Chaos is SO much more than order, why is it that if there is no 'creator' the world is suddenly not beautiful?

Someone once told me mountains are proof of God. That's like saying wheels are proof of feet. It makes no logical sense, so it is therefore impossible to logically argue the inanity of the illogical with them. Buck up, my UK chaps, keep a stiff upper lip and all that. Sooner or later natural selection will prevail.

Aside from that, Canada recently put a Bush-like emperor into power. It seems all of North America is destined to be seen as a land of the fools. How long now until we are suppressed for our views like Galileo? We are going in reverse. It is a travesty what science is become, the juggernaut is slowly brought to its knees...

The recent cloning scandal in Korea is only fuel to the right's fire, we are soon in serious trouble. It's beginning in the way U.S. patriots are now labelled terrorists or dissidents for merely expressing their views. "Ours is not a country founded on protest." Can our yellow molecule pieces of flair be far behind, pinned to our coats like a badge of protest, labelled by monsters of evangelism?

I, for one, don't welcome our 360 overlords. I am not a PS2 fanboy. I LOVE my XBox and for the longest time I refused to name it favorite. I was sold on the graphics, library, and XBox Live interactivity, not to mention you DON'T NEED A FRIGGIN' MULTITAP ("Multi-pass") for 4 player fun! But what the heck WAS with the 360? Who cares if they staggered supplies, demanded on retailers like Wal-Mart a sales quota... It just had nothing I wanted. Where's HALO 3 Bill? Huh? There, buddy, where's the Master Chief upon whose shoulders your gaming empire reigns? There's a reason Halo 2 isn't on PCs yet. Because Gates nigh-Lucasian empire of videogaming goodness would topple without console sales of Halo 2. Okay, to be fair, I completely pulled that out of me nethers and it's not true... But I'm a Halo fanboy above and beyond any rootkit viruses or Machiavellian marketing ploys. Americans have been demanding XBox role-playing games since the inception of the big black box. We haven't been heard. Where are the epic Square-style RPGs that will tie me up for hours. What, I get a shitty port of Elder Scrolls and a buggy Star Wars game? Now, Knights was AWEsome, but had its little burps now and again. Fine, regardless, the game is for rpgaming what a Lambo is to car buffs. All the launch of 360 brought to the party was a movie game, we all know how those turn out, a WW2 game... I'm more sick of these than I am of Kathy Lee Gifford. And it's kind of disrespectful to make war games in the first place... We're glorifying or making trite the death and sacrifice of thousands of real people that fought those wars. This aside, I still prefer killing aliens to people. Scroll back, remember, I LOVE Halo. And, lastly, a racing game. Great. Another racing game. O, not to forget, Perfect Dark Zero. Quite aptly named. You cannot build upon Rare achievements. Frankly, if the releases for 360 continue in this track, I must quote Maynard James Keenan here, the 360 is, "One great big festering neon distraction," and, "I've a suggestion to keep you (360 fanboys) all occupied: learn to swim."

Okay, to be fair, many on the list are not fresh... But they are anticipated. And don't be so hard on Rockstar there, JT, they make innovative games. You can't deny it. What was like State of Emergency when it released? Sure, it was basically, as Fat Bastard would say, Crahp, but it was original. Watching people run around the mall while you firebombed and generally caused havoc... It had its moments. Also, if you haven't heard of Winback... It was a PS2 launch title, if I recall correctly. It had awesome multiplayer... Kind of like a third person Perfect Dark with some elements of stuff we're seeing now a days, like RE4 or could even be the precursor of the only OK third person Bond titles flooding shelves with mediocrity these days. On top of all of this... We haven't even seen release lists to give hints as to what the Nintendo Revolution entails... It's a mystery. Love or hate the controller, if developers can't bring new breath to FPSs (not frames fanboy) Nintendo is forcing them to reevaluate control schemes. Chaos would demand that this moderate change to a tired dead horse of a genre could at endpoint bring about a redefinition of what FPS means to gamers! No one else is trying anything new. CERTAINLY not Microsoft. You have to respect Nintendo for longevity. XBox was founded on an effort to push Sony out of the gaming arena, don't forget it was slated as 'Project Midway' when it was being developed. As in the turning point of the war between Japan and America when America solidified their advantage. Gaming is not about burying one or the other, its about fun! Now that I've went off and tangented... Love your sig, by the way. Why did he have to die?? :)
