Not to mention the fact that the only way to write like a floppy to a CD is through goofy kludges like DirectCD (which has crashed many a PC) and other things like it. The best thing about USB Memory Keys is that they act pretty much like a floppy in almost every respect. They are durable, small and very handy to have compared to a CD which, unless you have a 3 inch one, does not fit in your pocket and are not very durable when compared to USB flash keys.
Also, if you look at the satellite now (it updates every half an hour), it looks like the eye that went away for a time is redeveloping. Just going to pray that no serious amount of human life is lost in Florida.
Francis is still a cat 4 hurricane as of the 5pm advisory. If you look at the advisory, it shows 115 MPH sustained winds measured in the EYE on San Salvador. It has weaked slightly, but this could be another eye wall replacement cycle (it only raised from 938 mb to 948 mb). It's a very dangerous storm and quite possibly the largest to hit the US since Andrew. They are still predicting it will be a Cat 4 at landfall and possibly a cat 5. There's still plenty of time for strengthening and conditions are still right for this to happen.
Don't you guys remember Andrew? Andrew hit florida and was a cat 5. Granted, Andrew hit farther south but the VAB and orbiter processing facility have both been standing for a long time and will continue to stand. It's been built to withstand cat 3 hurricanes and this looks like the core will pass below Kennedy. The shuttles are safely tucked away if they are anywhere near Kennedy now. they could have been flown out of FL by now.
Yes if you leave your bluetooth on all of the time, then yes you can have messages sent to your phone and data stolen from it. But thats the key.....you have to have the BT on! If you only turn the BT on when your using it, then the security issue is moot. Also, this does seem to me to be a money grab as you should be able to sync your phone over bt. Bt is a cable replacement technology and as suck verizon can't make money off of selling you that cable. That and they are charging almost 300 for a phone with crippled bt. I can go down to t-mobile and get a phone with bt that works with everything. I can sync it with my mac and also use it as the modem for both the mac and my pocket pc. The phone, after rebate, is running for aroun 75 bucks.
Verizon will activate any old device as long as it's one they sell and have approved for their network and even then I have seen other non Verizon affiliated dealers selling other phones for the verizon network like a older Sony Ericsson CDMA Phone. You are correct on teh American GSM carriers...at least the major ones.
You'd think you'd get it by now? What IS the difference between WHAT Bush is and WHAT Kerry is? Bush IS THE PRESIDENT! Kerry is not. BUSH COULD have many people gunning for him (terrorists or treasonous idiots) while Kerry is not very likely to have this. Bush is known world wide and Kerry not near as much. Which is the bigger target? A Senator or the President? THAT'S why everyone needs to be scrutinized who come with in sight of the guy not because he wants to be secretive. I don;t think he is trying to prevent himself from seeing protestors or anything of that ilk. I think he's just a bit scared of what those protestors could do. How easy would it be for a terrorist to hide amongst all of those protestors? Pretty damn easy. THAT'S the real reason for the increased level of security around him. Also, remember, it may not all be his idea either. It could be the Secret Service's idea. From what I understand, the President doesn't get too much say during certain times in history in how his security is run. Sure, he can tell Secret Service to go to hell but why should he? They were hired to protect him and he's going to go along with anything to prevent his life from being taken.
Actually I have seen recently some external hard disks that run off of bus power. They ain't cheap but they are available and are usually a few bucks cheaper then a iPod and have more space. They also are nto much larger then a iPod. SmartDisk has a 80 GB Firewire drive that is bus powered. All you need is your firewire cable and that's it. I would not buy a iPod when all I need is a external hard disk. I DO want a iPod because I can do both, but more because it's a great MP3 player that also works with iTunes then because it's a hard drive. I'd still buy both if I was in need of storage because I don't want to waste my iPod's space with word documents....I would rather have only music on it.
Yes I wan tto see Pro Bush stuff as well...and go ahead...show the nutty protesters because believe you me, it makes Kerry supporters look bad instead of good. Seeing some supposed vegan chanting Bush sucks doesn't tell me why Kerry is better. Every single one of the protesters shown on TV probably would, if asked, not provide a intelligible answer on why Bush is not right for the country and kerry is better. Supprt your candidate by trying to provide constructive reasons why he's the better choice instead of walking around farting and chanting Bush sucks. Nothing shocks me more then how uninformed the Democrat supporters are. I even saw a liberal web site accusing Bush of nuclear warfare for using DU(Depleted Uranium) warheads when the army and several credible scientists have already said and proven that DU penerators are safe to everyone but the enemy. The environmentalist wackos like to support Kerry because Bush seems to be big money and big oil, yet Kerry is probably into bigger money then Bush thanks to his wife, Teresa HEINZ Kerry. I'd listen to their arguments if they were able to provide concrete proof for their side but I have yet to see one shred of proof that prooves beyond a shadow of a doubt their information. In fact i ahve seen Bush being blamed for things that Clinton, their lord and savior, did!
Thing that annoys me a little with this is that people always say women are objectified by men when I see women every day who do teh smae thing to men.
At one time, our department did have more men then women but now it's about equal. When one of the men went on a business trip or vacation to Miami, we'd either bring back a postcard or send a post card with a picture of a hot babe in a thong on it. We put them at the top of our whiteboard. Now the women also do the same thing instead they just put up pictures of hot men up there. Noone is offended by this. I have never understood why anyone might be offended by a picture of a women in a small bikini....I mean it's not like we're showing a picture of a couple having sex! IN any case there are women that treat men as sex objects too.
Hiring someone on the basis of sex or race is always goign to be discriminatory. The best thing that should be done would be keep both names and sex out of the selection process. When a resume or application comes in, before handing it to the manager, black out the name. Do a voice disguised interview and the only one who knows the sex or race can be HR. Once the selection has been made, then and only then do you share the sex or race with the hiring manager. Thi scould be the only way to truely create a non discriminitory hiring policy. My bet though is even if you do that, you will still see inane lawsuits come up that said they hired x person cuz he's white.
I am so sick of blacks who whine they don't get a fair shake in this country. It's always their race if they don't get x job or get x loan or of x happens to them. It's only that if you think it is and it will only be that if you always think it is that way. Got news for you...the world isn't out to get you...we just didn't pick you because you weren't qualified and that's it!
We need to convince the developers who write programs that don't need to run in admin mode but they have to run it in admin mode because it won't work any other way.:(
True. If all Windows apps were well be haved and let you run it as a limited user, then thigns would be peachy but there are a number of Windows that unecessarily have you running it as administrator. One of these was the version of Quicken that came with my PC at home. I tried to set it up so my wife could use it on her limited account, but it did not work.
You have proof of this?? SHOW ME FACTS. As far as I know, e911 services have been available at least for the last 2 years and closer to 4 years. I have not heard of the 911 call centers not being able to handle things but I have heard of carriers not coming through on thier end of the deal. 911 location may be faster with a landline, but cellphones do have the ability through both cell tower traingulation and GPS's being built into the phone. My 2 year old phone has gps built in just for e911.
Hey I find those buttons useful and you don't. That's the best thing about being able to choose. So what if Cherry doesn't make one you like...buy one somewhere else. I personally use the Window (AKA Meta on Sun) quite frequently to pull up a File Explorer session without having to move to the mouse. There are also other things that they are very handy for. As for the volume keys and other media player type keys, those are addictive. Once you have a keyboard with them, you don't want to go back. I personally wish someone would make a small pad with just those buttons, and a track point. Could be very useful in a car with a laptop.
That said, there are manufacturers that make keyboards like you like. You just have to find them. The IBM Model M if you can find one are the best keyboards. Built like a tank and real clicky if you like that sort of thing.
We have idly sat by watching our teams venues get renamed for companies. We have 3Com Park, Nationwide Arena, PNC Park, Heinz Field, USAir Arena...anyone remember when our teams played in the Igloo, Thre Rivers Stadium, Riverfront Stadium, Candlestick Park....names that had meaning. Now if the team doesn't like the renewal deal, then they will rename the park after the next company willing to lay the bucks down to name the stadium. It's sick and I am getting tired of it...
In NASCAR, the drivers hare knocking down and blocking bottles set on top of the car that belong to the race sponser because one of their associate sponsers is Coke. Knocking down Tropicana bottles and etc. Their car's are emblazoned with logos and sometimes they get special paint schemes for one race deals and the like. NASCAR itself has a official hotel, a official drink, a official fuel and I am sure a official water. When does it stop?
Clean venues should be against the law as they restrict freedom. Freedom to wear whatever logo you'd like. To bring in a pepsi if you don't like coke. To let the athelete's drink whatever drink they want. The Olympics used to be one of the few events we have now where the athlete's did not care about what water they were drinking or whatever. I think one thing I would like right now is a list of these sponsers so I know who's stuff not to drink for this infraction on anyone's freedoms. Maybe this policy may be why the olympic venue's are not selling out.
Itg is even bad at the local levels now....where I work, when I started 10 years ago, they had pepsi AND coke in the cafeteria. Now, their's only pepsi on campus. Pepsi is our official drink. Well piss on that...I bring in what I want...water or tea.
Which would be thanks to NBC NOT broadcasting the Olympics live as they happen. That's the fscking sick thing about it. NBC turned it into the primetime TV show to watch instead of what it should be....news of what occured at the games. ANY news media that want to should be authorized to broadcast from the games.
The member countries would not stand for it if they actually tried to do something. The whole idea is wrong. Why has the olympics and broadcasting the NEWS of the olympics gotten to be such a big money thing? I thought it was all about brotherhood and for the weeks of the games, laying down our weapons and coming together on the athletic field instead of the battle field. To the IOC....the athlete sharing their story is not about your lucrative contracts with the NBC and the BBC and other organizations. NBC.....if your the one getting the bucks from the IOC...let the IOC know it's ok and your don't care what the athletes do. The gold medal winner of any sport should be able to tell his own story and that website run by the winner or his friend will not taker anything away from your "contract". No, I don't blame the IOC....I blame money grubbing NBC. They did the same thing to Nascar (blowing thngs out of proportion like on track disagreements).

Takes at least three days to load it on the 747. All three are in the progress of being re-fitted.

It has taken off....it's just that Sony-Ericsson will not be inventing their own chips for their phones any more. This is a good thing.
AMEN! :D
OSDN is no more. It's been OSTG for a while now and Hemos is the VP of Editorial Operations.

These thigns have already been reviewed all over the place. Not new. The USB memory part is made by SwissBit. Very good stuff.

Obvious Photoshop as you can see the Apple logo is both crooked and off center. Other then that, this very well could be feasible.
