The number of people who say they have no one to talk to about important matters has more than doubled, according to a new study by sociologists at Duke University and the University of Arizona.
That's horseshit. If I need to talk about important matters with someone, I'll just message someone in my guild.
The commonly held belief back then was these docs (and dentists... don't get me going on this one...) were only in the military because they couldn't hack private practice.
That's really like saying a kid who fixes humvees is only in the military because he couldn't hack it at Jiffy Lube. I've been in and out of military hospitals for years (including Walter Reed) for various reasons - not the common cold, either - and have not once been steered wrong by a military doctor. Neither have any of my extended family members, a number of whom have spent their entire careers in the service.
I was rarely ever seen by a dentist on base though - those guys always seemed to be booked months in advance and it was easier just to go see someone off base instead.
I don't think there's a contract that says they will continue releasing software patches for the product for 8 years. Checked around on the net and the only thing I saw in the EULA I found was a 30 day warranty against specific defects.
RTFA. They're claiming they bought the phone from the cab driver, and they won't give it back because then they'd be out the money they paid for it. If they're innocent they shouldn't have any problem going to the police to try to recoup their money from the cab driver.
That's why you say "Symantec (the creators of Norton)" instead of structuring your sentence to make it seem as though Symantec and Norton were two different antivirus vendors. Either way it's a moot issue now as it seems the article has been corrected.
If bad publicity were all it took to bring a company down, Nike would have disappeared years ago over the use of sweatshops in third world countries. The average schmuck doesn't care as long as they're getting the goods and/or services they want from a company. It's for moral reasons - their business is already secure.
No, because if you think about it part of the problem people have is they neglect and/or quit their job to play games. For gold farmers, that is their job.
I'd say they don't suck at attempting to sell extended warranties on everything.
The seller of that laptop...

Online Revenge

· Score: 1
According to the screencap of the Ebay auction the seller had a feedback of 0 - with 50% positive. How dumb do you have to be to cough up 375 pounds to what effectively is some stranger on the street offering to sell you a laptop? It sucks the buyer got screwed, but he really kind of opened himself up to the problem.

If you're losing headphones into your ear because you need to cheat to pass a test, you are not smart.
Somebody's going to have to pay for the hardware. Your $0 broadband is a pipe dream that nobody will buy in to.
Are fads that are going to disappear inside of 12 months?
And half of the remaining 10% comes from snarky bastards like you.
And me.
People said the exact same thing when Windows XP came out, if you'll recall.
128MB of ram? This is ridiculous!
The spelling nazis should have a field day with that post in her blog.

Shut your goddamn mouth. All hail Commander Taco!

You'd be surprised how many people are still using Windows 98.

Hacked into the code...? I always just used IDDQD (or IDKFA).

Why is that sad? Does it damage your computer in some form? Do you not have an internet connection?
I can quit playing World Of Warcraft anytime I want, thank you very much.
There needs to be a corollary for Godwin's Law covering tech support and car analogies.
Congratulations on being a spelling and/or grammar nazi.
This is Slashdot, we don't care about the facts around here.
Maybe Apple's user base just isn't fully aware of great games that are now available for the Mac?
I'm pretty sure everyone's played Super Breakout and Warcraft 3 at least once already now.

No, it doesn't even qualify as useful. If I want to read about Ubuntu, I'll go look at a submission about Ubuntu.
Why is this thing under Linux anyway?
