Amiga, Atari, now Commodore PCs again. What's next, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum toaster?
But seriously, the sad thing is that this PC company bought itself a lot of publicity just by buying the rights to use the Commodore name. Hell, even BBC News did a feature on "Veteran technology firm Commodore" listing all of the amazing things "they" did in the past:
I agree with you but for different reasons. Street Fighter II was the first game of its kind with a large (at the time) roster of characters with different moves and fighting styles.
"The lower elevation tropical glaciers are going right now, no matter what we do we're going to lose the glaciers on [Mount] Kilimanjaro and we're going to lose the lower elevation glaciers in the Andes," said Thompson.
Too bad it has been proven already that the melting of the snows of Kilimanjaro is due to deforestation, not to any increase in global temperature. In fact, temperatures at the top of Kilimanjaro haven't changed at all over the years.
At least it doesn't take over every media association in my computer and try to stick me with a non-removable tray icon anymore.
Maybe not, but now they force you to download and install iTunes when you want to get Quicktime, which is even more annoying. Stick with Quicktime Alternative I'd say.
These things are not replacements, they compliment your mobile phone.
Unless you like paying for mobile calls at places where you could be making calls for free that is.
Nobody wanted that Blu-Ray drive in the PS3. It's Sony's attempt to push their new tech to customers who just want to play games.
If Sony had just put a regular DVD drive in the PS3 we would be playing with our PS3s last summer and we would have paid $200 less for them.
In the meantime, over here in Japan PS3s are available at every store but I'm still trying to get my hands on a Wii...

Who cares about a small memory footprint? The Amiga was great because it was cool. What made it cool were the games and demos, being able to amazing stuff PCs and Macs couldn't do.
While the OS was very good at the time and it's interesting to see an update being published it will not wow or amaze anybody. If I want to be amazed in 2007 I'll get a PS3 (as soon as some decent games come out for it that is).
It's truly amazing what ILM managed to do for Pirates 2. Too bad though that the producers chose not to invest in a similar amount of time and attention when they hired the screenwriters...
Easy. Just take several shots of the same position say 20 seconds apart. Then let graphic software spot the differences between the shots. The differences which occur less are usually people and moving vehicles which can then be replaced by pieces of background from other shots.
Sanctions only seem to work if the people in charge of the target country give a damn about the citizenry or economy. If all they care about is being in control, rather than being in charge of a nation that actually has some prestige, they'll just siphon off the country's own supplies to make up the difference.
Very true, but North Korea is a very special case. This time, in addition to holding back food aid, they've cut off Kim's supply of beaujolais and other luxury items. No wonder he's running to the Chinese saying he's so sowwy!
Exactly. As long installing software and drivers is more complicated than clicking on an installer icon normal people will (and won't be able) to make the switch. It always pisses me off when I hear But it's so easy if you just learn to use the command line.
As long as installing stuff is too complicated for regular folks they simply will not use it, no matter how "gorgeous" Linux looks. It would be like telling them they can have a Rolls Royce for free as long as they know how to fix the engine themselves.
100.000 digits? Not bad, but not as impressive as his countryman Takeru Kobayashi who set another world record by eating 53 and 3/4 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.
You obviously aren't a seller. Sales on eBay Express are terrible and so are eBay's recent fees. I make around $7000 in sales monthly but pay around $1200 in fees. Crazy.
Most professional eBay sellers I know are seriously looking into spreading out to alternative sites or their own Zencart or OSCommerce sites because of recent fee hikes and lowered exposure of store listings.
Sounds like a future replacement to Director and Shockwave to me.

What, no Sensible World of Soccer?
Exactly. South Korea would be better of drafting guidelines on the ethical treatment of dogs instead of writing recipe books about them.
BitTorrent ;)
Sony, HP, Gateway, Lenovo and Dell are not going to roll over and die.
As long as these companies continue making cheaper Windows computers Microsoft will continue to dominate the home desktop market.
Now, if Apple would allow computer manufacturers to make clones again it would be a different story...
You seem to be forgetting that in most European countries sales tax is 19%. Now who is getting fucked over by whom?

Now I have to the jewelers and have that diamond ring exchanged for a barium titanate one...
But if software is at all interesting, it's because no one else has done it before.
;)
Sounds like one of my regular cooking sessions
Yup. Quite a few novices who I've asked what OS they were running responded with "Word".

Prince of Persia? Railroad Tycoon? You do realize you're talking about games from 1990 (17 years ago), do you not? (apparently not)
I'm too lazy to copy folders around. Thunderbird developers are too lazy to write an import/export function. Stalemate.

lol. I used to think my Amiga caught a virus called "Guru Meditation" when that happened.
