You can disable Windows updates now, if you have an older build of Windows 10. Specifically, version 1703 which is build number 15063.1387 for me. With this version u can permanently disabled windows updates within Services. When the c:\Windows10Upgrade\ folder is inevitably created, remove ALL permissions so nothing can add files to it. Install Process Blocker and have it block
C:\Windows10Upgrade\Windows10UpgraderApp.exe
C:\windows\softwaredistribution\Download\randomcharacters\WindowsUpdateBox.exe
C:\Windows\UpdateAssistantV2\Windows10Upgrade.exe
C:\Windows\UpdateAssistant\Windows10Upgrade.exe
There u go. Windows update permanently disabled and won't upgrade itself.
Should work on the latest build of Windows 10 as well to block major upgrades, though patches will still install.
The emissions requirements for diesels in the US are increasing. Sorry, it's late, but it has something to do with new diesels having to have 'Urea' tanks, so Urea mixes in with the diesel exhaust to reduce sulfur or something else bad coming out of the tail pipe.. These increased emissions requirements for diesels in the US reduce the fuel efficiency advantage of diesel over a gas engine to a point where it is below ~~ (from my memory of the interview with Bob Lutz )10% advantage (Bob Lutz).

Clackamas Community College (CCC) in Oregon City Oregon are trying out Moodle in some online courses, and as learning aids for on-site courses, and may eventually replace Blackboard with Moodle in the future.
My Calculus II class at this Junior College is on Moodle and we use it to ask and answer HW questions between class times.
I too received a letter a while back, I don't remember if they upgraded me from 4 to 8 or 4 to 12Mb/s, but they did also double the upload rate to mid 80KB/s instead of 42KB/s.
Good for me and Utorrent.
I used to work at ON Semiconductor in Gresham OR, and they have win3x on a wafer stress testing machine as of 2008. Its an old machine, but still perfectly good because as the feature sizes get smaller with Photolithography, stress testing is the same (as far as testing the flatness of the surface).
So yeah, there are still uses for that OS I suppose.
My aunt just got one of them, I played with it for quite a while, it seems to do a good job at surfing the web (loads slashdot.org pretty well) and playing youtube (of course you can't download the 'high quality' version of videos)
but the battery life sucks.
It only has a 3.7Volt 1100mAh battery, when I was playing a youtube video the battery meter went down by 5% in less than 10 minutes.
So the phone is very nice, except there are NO or very little configuration options for stuff like the youtube player or web browser, but it is fun to have a phone in which one could play around with writing apps for it.
I was wondering which cell-phone this 'Gadget' was for. I would have hoped it would have been software for the Iphone or Gphone (Or any other cell-phone in which this may be possible). But no, its a physical device I guess. Saying the words 'gadget' and 'widget' on a geek web site need to be said carefully.
LOL, reminds me of the fake seti@home PCI cards (not actually manufactured) that supposedly decrease work unit completion times, especially if more than one is hooked up.

Apparently the ultra capacity battery is 95Watt hours, so average power consumption would have to be 3.958 watts (95/24hrs). It would be difficult to accomplish in Vista, maybe if you cut out all the non-essential background processes, classic GUI mode, had the display at the dimmest setting, and just had Microsoft Office 97/2K open.
I'd fly a warp capable starship (ent - D) to intercept the asteroid, then stretch the warp bubble generated from the engaged warp engines, around the asteroid so it will 'weigh' less. Then, use a tractor beam to shove it out of the way.

I can see Sandra Bullock pole dancing now .. and chanting "WhoIs WhoIs WHOis!"
"The universe is a spheroid region 705 meters in diameter"! I Can't believe nobody else has posted this!

NO, it IS 2,000 Gigabytes, and it is ~1800GiBiBites! The drive manufacture isn't lying to the people.
pornhub.com FTW!

"That pretty much sums it up. The only reason to go to a Circuit City was to avoid crowds." Just like Safeway. Winco Foods FTW!
Ha hahah hahahahah haha.

And run Folding@home. LHC@home, or seti@home all day!

As long as they can retract....
That's what scripts are for, MobileTatsu.
But Polyurethane bushings on my car's anti-sway bar makes for a squeaky experience over speed bumps... Rubber all the way.
I bet their base bias isn't at 0.7 volts!
Imagine all the melted bubble wrap in our atmosphere as the asteroid destroys us.

It puts the Acidic Melted Chocolate on its skin again!
