My laptop (HP DV8320us) contains 2 HDDs. I store everything on the second drive.. in the bios, I can turn off the second drive. Laptop boots, windows is there, and a couple programs... wonder if they are smart enough to think about a second drive in a laptop?
as your tag says..... j/k
You have a good point.. I am not very good at putting thoughts down. Yes, most scientists are not atheist or agnostic.. I think the latest stat was >85% of US population says they are Christian.
for your b) point.... that's what I'm trying to say, apparently poorly.
My main point is that this argument will go on until
a. Jesus returns (belivers are right)
b. time machine invented (could go either way)
c. some new scientific breakthrough (could go either way / most likely to evolution)
d. etc..etc..etc...
I am not telling anyone here what to believe, I don't like people that do. People need to choose what they believe, but more importantly, know why they believe that.
BTW... I am a Christian that believes in evolution.
I always find these discussions interesting. The fun thing about it is, there is no way to be 100% sure. Yes, geological and biological evidence points (a lot) towards evolution. The Bible says 7 days. You have some Christians that believe that is a literal translation, and some that reference "a day is like unto a thousand years to God" and vice versa - so those 7 days could be millions of years.
The problem comes down to - to many believers put God into a box, and try to limit his abilities by their own understandings of the universe. On the flip side, how can you scientifically test that God exists, and there for that He Created? If you could, that would negate Faith by it's own definition. Which basically is what this comes down to for each individual who actually cares about ID vs Evolution.....
Either you have faith in God, and believe in 7 days, or I.D,.... or, you have faith that I.D. or Creation is not a possiblity, or can't exist because Science can't prove it.
This debate will never be put to rest because of it's nature.
Humans have become so technically evolved that they can now make a living, breathing person.
A summit of scientists believed that because they now had the power to create life, God was no longer needed. So they all decided that someone should go and tell God this. One man volunteered to go. One day he climbed a mountain and called upon God.
"God! We humans now have the ability to bring people from the dead, we can create our own life, we don't need you anymore so you can leave us alone."
God listened to the scientist and nodded his head. "Okay, I'll tell you what, if you can really create life, let's have a competition, if you can create a better person than me, I'll go, but we'll have to do it the way I did it in the old days."
So the scientist agrees and begins to collect some dirt to make his person. God simply watches him and finally asks him what he's doing.
"I'm using the dirt to make a person."
God smiles, looks at the scientist and replies, "Go make your own dirt."
And now.... Slashdot is helping Microsoft get the phrase "people ready business" out there, by posting a story about it, and using the phrase "people ready business" in the article... and, no doubt, numerous people will put "people ready business" into their replies to the article about "people ready business", thus, adding the number of times "people ready business" is on a single page...
I for one, will not help contribute to this meaningless mentioning of the phrase "people ready business" in slashdot, which is helping microsoft get it's phrase "people ready business" higher up in google's rankings, and into people's heads...

Anyone else find it a little strange that you can't find any story on this from a US source (least not that I found)??? In other news... local Russian papers report that the US has developed moose and squirrel robots to help soldiers for recon.......
Yes and no...... Before SP2, yes, XP would connect to ANYTHING it could find. After SP2, it warns you if you want to connect to an unsecured network - so it's needs some kind of response from the user first.... UNLESS.... you have SSIDs are the same. If you said "yes, connect" the the unsecured "linksys" SSID at home, and you go somewhere else with the same SSID and unsecured, you are connected automatically.
If you buy Vista Business, or Ultimate - you have downgrade rights to install XP Pro... This is what I am doing at my office. Every new PC that comes in with Vista - wiped and XP installed. Call up MS licensing, and they generate a key for you when you tell them you are downgrading. Perfectly legal and in the eula. This way, when we finally HAVE to go to vista, the licenses are ready and waiting, since the PCs came with them.
I disagree.... I would much rather have control over the drives where my data resides, rather then upload it to a place where I have no idea what they are doing to protect my data. In my opinion, nothing beats a good RAID with current backups. Just because I drive isn't dead, doesn't mean it can't be replaced. After the drive has been in commision a while, replace it, and move it to a server that isn't as critical.
It looks like he posted his own story. His name links to his website, and the article deff. points out that he is from spiderweb software. Did he just make an account here? http://slashdot.org/~spiderweb/ There isn't anything in his profile.
Maybe I'll write an article about why I hate my IT job, and then, post it on slashdot.

With the way it's gone so far today, apparently, slashdot is hosted in Iran.
Maybe vsita will run faster using KDE instead!
Actually, if you read correctly, you will notice that is that supported platforms for the WORD Document. Not for the Hyper V itself.

Yeah! Another choice for me to choose what I going to replace vista with!
Now, is that 5GB/month, or .005TB/month?

That's gotta be bad! That line alone was worth reading the article!
