Just gave it a shot running Minefield on a G5 iMac and it did it with no problems (1.41, 0.87, 1.312 vs 2.999, 1.955, 3.023 for Camino on the same machine). Maybe it's just a problem when running on x86 hardware at the moment?
So why don't you just ask the webmasters of the sites you're about to scrape? I'd bet the site owners would settle for a few hundred per month to provide you with data in whatever form you require. And it's cheaper than the $2000/mo. for a server, etc. (If these sites are "bigger" than what a few hundred a month would buy, then you damn well better ask (see below).
This also assumes that the other site isn't a competitor. If they are, then merely suggesting the idea to them will probably screw your company over.
After going through a nasty experience with SecuROM blowing up in my face a few months ago (and getting it yanked out of my system), I finally decided to check to see if the SecuROM-free NoCD crack would work with the Steam version of BioShock. I'm glad to say that it does! So I've finally been playing through the game for the first time this past week. I should finish it sometime this weekend. I've been enjoying it so far. But yeah, I agree that SecuROM should never been included with the game, and especially not on the Steam version. But again, at least the "cleaned" version of the exe works with the Steam version.
Even if the users knew what their usage limits were, a huge majority still wouldn't have any reasonable sense of what that is. They have a vague idea of what the number means, but most can't even tell you how big a file is even when the number is staring them in the face, let alone when there's a constant stream of data trickling in every time they click a link. And that's not even getting into things like streaming video. The only way these limits will ever work is if the ISP provides some way of monitoring your usage.
Do you really think the MoD (or the CIA, NSA, etc.) are going to provide us with the real deal? Of course it's a whitewa.....NO, NO NOT THE ANAL PROBE AGAIN!!!
Yep. The "tape baking" process is basically to get the tape in a "good enough" state so that you can then transfer the contents to another storage medium.
No, those aren't mobile platforms. But if you'd read the page, you'd see that they're making these available to help get the widest number of users to provide feedback re: the interface, as well as making it available for people to begin developing plugins for it. Of course, that will probably also lower the S/N ratio re: valid feedback.
Windows 7 debuts a new feature called Device Stage that has the potential to be unbelievably handy ... or a complete disaster.
Hmmm. I wonder which way Microsoft will take this....
Another browser to test on!!!
"Hey Rockie, watch me put a gun in my mouth!"
Again?!?

The boss will just say "You're a smart guy. Find a way to get around their protections."
If you have to ask how to do something like this, then it's probably a bad idea.
Even Bill acknowledges that nobody pays attention to his ideas until the third generation.

Actually, I agree. As a concept, it's not so bad. The big issue is getting the rest of the world to adopt it.
Reporter: "Mr. President (David Duchovny), when will we send a man to the moon?"
DD: "As soon as Senator Palin has his bag packed."
Hmmm. Aside from the sex-change operation, I don't find it all that funny...
Oh, I know! I know! Swatch time!
Con: 9. No free wifi calling.
Yet.
The catch: you'll need to peel your tape in a vacuum
Oh trust me, I "peel my tape in a vacuum" all the time....
So that's "evidence" to you?
Don't you know it's scientifically sound to use your own beliefs on a subject as evidence on which to further support your beliefs on that subject?
For the most part, I agree with everything you've written. However, I'm not so sure about the fluoridation one.\

Dammit! Another brownout!
I believe that's to transfer your user accounts, Miis, and any save data that can't easily be moved.

That was a Ziggy.
Anyway, step back, I voted republican. We cool now?
Wait a second. I'm confused. So are you saying that you are racist?!?
(relax, it's a joke)
Yeah. That's the one. It was hilarious!
Shouldn't that be "Linux As a Model For a GNU Government"?
This is a terrible idea. Any thinking person knows that we should use BSD as a model for a new government.
