Well, the easiest way to tell if you're phone's bugged is to be a law-abiding citizen. If you fit the description, then yes, you've probably been bugged.
Now excuse me while I improve my tinfoil hat.
Well no, not yet they're not. Just wait until they buy their fancy new Dell (or HP, or Gateway, or any other package PC that has a deal with MS). Within a year, the "average user" WILL be using Vista. And by then the Zune issue will be fixed, rendering this article even more pointless than it already is.
The Reynolds number for flow between platters in a disk drive is going to be something like 30 m/s * 0.001 m / 2E-5 m^2/s = 1500 >> 1, so vortices will be shed off the back of the arm. Which basically means turbulence.
An article about essentially using aluminum foil for the platters, and this comes up. I can't be the only one chuckling here.
IANAL (how appropriate), but by "large" I assume you mean "better known", and the associates handle a lot more cases than the partners -- not to mention do a fair amount of the partners' work for them. Unless you're a high-profile or disgustingly rich client, you'll probably end up with a non-partner handling your case. So yes, I can see associates billing $500 an hour, while partners would be billing a lot more than that. That's just my take on the system, I could be way off base here.
I actually just recently got a copy of Synchronet and LORD running... What a way to revisit some good times. Strangely enough, that's one of the few games that hasn't lost its luster in the decade or more since it was one of *the* games to play.
Here's a clue for you, you don't talk to invading generals. You don't talk to people committing genocides. You only talk when you lack means or courage.
Complexity has gone up, but it is by no means beyond someone who is interested and dedicated.
In my age group (I'm 26), how many people became "interested and dedicated" without turning on their (or their parents')//e, C64, or, God forbid, CoCo? No, it's not beyond them, but you have to give them somewhere to start. Since Windows doesn't come with anything in that area (yes, I actually miss QBasic), offering the VS 2005 Express Edition for free isn't such a bad idea. It even gives them a head start, because contrary to Slashdot groupthink, a lot of companies use Windows, and don't plan to switch anytime soon. It's still a couple steps removed from "turn it on and start coding", but it's better than nothing.
My current XP machine, "professionally" managed and maintained by a battalion of Windows maintenance guys, with the very latest patches and virus scanners, must be rebooted daily -- and I use it to read email. Go figure...
Daily? You, sir, need to fire some of that "battalion". I run XP on one of my machines - for gaming and other more intensive tasks. It's patched and clean, and I need to reboot *at the most* once a week - still more often than the machine running Ubuntu, but better than daily. Back in the days of Win98, I could see daily reboots, but, love it or hate it, 2k/XP has done a lot for stability, and if you can't keep it running for more than a day, chances are it's your fault, not Microsoft's.
Why run DOS? Just use the neural port of DOSBox.

You've got to give him credit though - positive score + flamebait mod, that's not seen very often.

Only if you want a two-player game.
Wait a second... you see ads?
So go the linux route, install a third-party player.
I was actually making a vague jab at the /.s that claim to not be lawyers, then go on to give shoddy advice, but thank you anyway.
IANAL, but I think that'll get you sued for slander. Or was it libel. I always get the two confused.
"Joke over head" ASCII and any other /. memes that indicate that you completely missed the point.
A chair in the middle of China can be totally different from most or all of the chairs from any given store in the western world.
Sooo... huh? The peoples' legs are on backwards or something equally disturbing that necessitates "totally different" chairs?
With the sheer amount of crap Dell's got out there, isn't it obvious that they already have (at least) one?
I was under the impression that when you buy a RHEL license, you're paying for the support, not the OS. Anyone care to correct me?
