  6. Experience on The Case For Working With Your Hands · · Score: 3, Funny

Before I was in IT I gathered work experience in running a cash register, detailing luxury automobiles, auto mechanics, every aspect of building and remodeling a home from building forms for concrete to putting an attic vent on the roof, landscaping and lawn maintainence, fast food, babysitting illegal mexican painters, and odd jobs doing things I don't even know what to call.

Now if I can just find my way to put all of this together like Steve Jobs did with his background, I'll be good to go.

  7. How theyve treated me on Couple On the Run After 'Stealing' $6 Million · · Score: 1

I would report it if the bank had been understanding when I screw up in the past.

But if they'd ever made me pay a $30 fee because of a $1 or less mistake on my behalf you better believe I'd take as much of that money as I could and run.

    The amount is irrelevant.

  11. I'm the same way on How To Help a Friend With an MMO Addiction? · · Score: 1

Your friend feels trapped for some reason and this game is their escape.

Sit down with your friend for a day while they play and pay attention to what gets them excited while they're playing. If you can't set aside one full day to do this with your friend then you should just face the fact that they're not really your friend and move on.

Once you know what excites them while they're playing you can determine what they're trying to escape from and possibly work with them towards getting away from whatever makes them feel trapped.

  12. Speed Dial on Mozilla Preparing To Scrap Tabbed Browsing? · · Score: 1

How about a hotkey combination, say ALT+TAB, that brings up a screen similar in appearance and function to Operas' speed dial, but instead of holding 9 special bookmarks, it displays previews of all open "tabs/screens".

The preview screen would arrange previews in a grid where each preview would take up an equal portion of the available space. Two previews would give each half of the available screen, three a third, and so on.

While the preview screen is up, the individual previews could be dragged and dropped into different positions, newer screens/tabs would start in the bottom-right most corner, which could be configurable.

So basically, I guess it would pretty much look and function like another desktop but with previews of webpages instead of icons.

Yeah but you're talking about stuff in the "gray area", I'm talking about stuff like a video tape showing the person killing someone obtained through an "illegal search". Why should someone get away with murder simply because that video was obtained illegally ?

  23. Get outa jail free on NY Court Says Police Can't Track Suspect With GPS · · Score: 1

Why do we reverse convictions made based on evidence that was obtained illegally ?

No matter how it was obtained, as long as it's real evidence, I don't see why that means the person who did the crime should go free because of it.
Instead, the officer should face charges for breaking the law and they both go to jail.
