And that's different to your address and phone number (including mobiles if you choose) appearing in the phone book that everyone has a copy of IN THEIR HOUSE (or available on the internet)?
Yes. The names in that phone book are not as easy to link to me. (Never mind that I do not have my name in any phone books.)
I don't disagree with keeping all such info separate, but it's not really difficult for someone who wants to find out about you doing so.
The amount of energy spent finding that information is a factor. Attracting people towards that information is a factor. Actually.. being a 'grrl' you should already understand that.
Old 8 and 16 bits games beat the crap out of most recent games when it comes to difficulty.
Do a search for the "Angry Video Game Nerd" or "Angry Nintendo Nerd" and watch the videos. That'll shed some light on the difficulty of those old games.
Are you in the right thread? Wait... lemme guess.. your autopilot saw the words 'Walmart', 'Wireless', and 'Family" and you thought you had a cheap +3 Insightful. Right?
So they are offering the first 4 Super Mario Bros games on one disc for around $30. The same 4 games can be purchased for your Wii through the virtual console for $5 each - totaling $20.
The disc has the Super Mario All Stars (16-bit) versions of the games. Unless SMAS is on the SNES Virtual Console, you're not getting the same games, you're getting the versions with much better graphics and sound.
On an un-related note, I worked at Funcoland back when the original Playstation and N64 came out. We dealt primarily with used games and we could not keep Super Mario All Stars in stock to save our lives. They'd actually pay up to $30 in store credit to get that collection and nobody wanted to give it up. I don't blame them. It was a nice upgrade and they even retained the glitches that made the first one so charming.
I think this is another "but somehow it's different because a computer was involved!" type of issue.
I'll take it. Anything that gets people to raise the awareness of what they post on sites like Facebook. I'm just waiting for the day one of my family members publicly posts their address or phone number without thinking.
You would think with 50+ years of TV and movies telling us about fingerprints that every would-be criminal would wear gloves. But.. nope, as you said, there's a backlog.
I think being any kind of a fanboy for any Microsoft product (excepting maybe the gaming division) should qualify you as mentally ill and get you a free trip to visit the nice guys in white coats.
Well... that really only works if fanboy labeling is precise. Right now a fanboy or apologist is just somebody who read the whole article.
Okay, so we have our iPhone fans and Android fans... we need to make some room for Win7 Phone fans here. Do we just take a few volunteers now or do we wait for a few hostile stories to come along so a handful of people can conclude that those stores aren't true and become fans that way?
I'm curious though: what is your definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy? I just simply assumed it was a prophecy that fulfilled itself, but clearly you know more on the subject.
Well you're most of the way there. The key ingredient is that the prophecy wouldn't come true until somebody acts to prevent it. One example would be a guy is afraid of having a heart attack, so he exercises to get into shape and causes his heart to arrest. If he would have chilled he would have been fine.
Basically, I wanted you not to call it a self-fulfilling prophecy, to stop giving validation to people who choose to pirate.
Bummer, I tried to acknowledge that earlier. But no, it's not validation. It's a comment on how damaging their behaviour is. As I said earlier, these industries are creating their own nightmare. A couple of years ago, on three seperate occasions, I've gone to the theater and had to sit through those 1 minute long "you wouldn't steal a car... you wouldn't download a movie" ads. On each of those occasions I heard somebody say "You can download movies? How?" And I'm sitting here thinking "wow.. you're really going to make the people who have already paid for a movie sit through a minute long condescending speech about paying for movies, then at the end tell them they can skip it and watch a new movie in the comfort of their own home?"
I really don't understand their attitude. And this is coming from somebody who has software for sale right now and works in Hollywood. The logic of punishing the paying customers baffles me.

I'll be up front and tell you I don't know the answer, but I imagine the camera can't write the uncompressed data fast enough and there isn't a (standard) codec right now that can reasonably make it smaller and compress fast enough with the processors available.
Freedom Fusion.
Here's a fun fact: The phrase 'Freedom Fries' dates back to 2003.
Apparently, a picture is no longer worth a thousand words, but only 140 characters.
I honestly do not understand what it is about this post that's 'informative'. It does an ok job of sounding like something profound, I suppose.
Do you often go that long without charging, or are you saying you can go that long without charging? If you do, who don't you charge it at night?
(I'm not asking to set up an argument. I was just curious if there was a reason like "it's better for the battery" or something.)
Geez if I could hook up a storage battery and wire it to my wife I could go off grid.
From what I understand about your wife, she'd use it up again before sunrise.
Camper!!
Undoubtedly this is part of the iNinja project.
HA HA HOO HEE HEEE HAHAA HA HA HA *snort*

That was really ... iFunny! AAAHAHAH HA HA HA HA!!!!

You forgot the guy who will claim that GNU/Star is better because it is open source.
And they'll claim that people who fly coach value freedom more than those who fly in private jets.
Not trying to be a spelling nazi....

Heh. So what are your aspirations, then? Spelling Security Guard? Spelling Old Man Yelling At The Kids In His Yard?

And yet games released this year will be based on the same characters, plot devices and game mechanics as that title a quarter century ago.
Yeah, the difference between Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy is very subtle. It's just an expansion pack!
What if we don't count bundles but only stand-alone sales?
What if people bought the system because they wanted that game?
I think this is another "but somehow it's different because a computer was involved!" type of issue.

All the NRA sticker means is that you have easy to pawn manhood enhancement in the closet, and Viagra in the bathroom medicine cabinet.
That's not enough to discourage you from breaking and entering?!
I see you own an iPhone
This comment is precisely why this story made it to Slashdot.
Heh. I said busted, not convicted.

You'd think... but it still happens. They're not all Lex Luthor.
You would think most criminals would know not to carry a cell phone at all, since the cell towers tracks and record their location at every moment.
Criminals still get busted by leaving fingerprints.

It's been a couple of hours since I posted that. I reread it and think it sounded hostile instead of funny. Sorry man.
