    When you succeed with something hard in a game you can (often?) get a rush of endorphins, and you can definitely get addicted to those.
    I definitely get them when I'm playing something hard and succeed.

    for me it's not about "addiction".

    i play wow during my free time because i'm intellectually starved.

    I am faced with a choice: read/watch mindless dreck, or experience mindless dreck with at least the minimal requirement of interactivity.

    it's simply more stimulating than most of what's out there.

    Go to a library if you are "intellectually starved".
    I play computer games to allow the intellectual part of my brain to rest. Claiming it's because nothing good is on tv, that's just lame.

    GuildWars had this from the start.
    In Diablo 2 you could at least hire one (perhaps 2 my memory is hazy).

    It made the earlier-middle parts in GuildWars soloable. It's something more mmos should have.

    uh here's a thought:

    no use = no fees

    Easy math, there folks. And I don't buy the 'incoming spam' thing - texting can be just disabled completely, at the provider level. Explain to me how it's a 'better' form of communication, anyway. Why not just make a phone call? Person's not there? Leave a message!

    Any form of communication that is more expensive than Hubble - deal me out. I don't need it, when there are just so many other choices.

    It doesn't speed up.
    It has one speed in medium1 c1. Then when it leaves medium1 and enters vacuum it has speed c.
    There is no "speeding up" (accelerating) between c1 and c. It's instant.

    I'd agree with that. Mostly I'm a little bitter because the MMO RPG seems to have entirely displaced the CRPG. Fortunately, there's nearly 20 good years of CRPGs to catch up on. Maybe I'll finally get around to playing Pool of Radiance.

    If you mean "Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor", don't do it.
    It's a terrible game and when you finally uninstall it in disgust it deletes systems files making windows unbootable.
    It happened to me :-(

    I've often heard it said that open source experience is useless on resumes, because then employers of developers for closed source projects (regrettably the majority of software jobs) will think you are so kind of hippie rebel and they won't trust you keeping their code under wraps. Explain to anyone that asks that you do open source programming to learn and get working experience.
    Not to save the world.

    It the only easy way for unemployed people to work on "proper code" and be able to show what you have done to others.

    Why would I be glad that they're taking action? Id much rather they either legalize bots within the game or take away the reason for using them. Make the grind shorter, reduce the time and money sinks and you'll reduce the number of people botting. Won't work. There are always people that feel that *any* effort is to much.
