    Usually I just temporarily allow sites so they don't end up in my white list. Many sites are broken without JS.

    Labeling power supplies is a good idea. I had a laptop and an external hard drive that used the same sized barrel jack. One day I accidentally swapped them. The laptop didn't care but the external hard drive fried with 19V instead of 12V and I lost everything on it.

    In most places you can't give up your right to life either. You cannot give your life away to someone else as slavery and taking your own life is against the law as well.

    The problem is that the syllabus would explicitly state that papers will be used with the site and you would be forced to let the instructor to do what they wish with the paper if you want to take the course.

    Motorola makes Android phones so the prices of their competitors will go up and since Motorola owns the patents they don't have to pay anything extra. At that point Motorola could either keep the prices of their Android phones low to undercut the competition or keep the prices in line with everyone else and take in the extra money as profit.

    I know at least some gigabyte motherboards have parallel and serial headers. The boxes don't come with the expansion plate but you can get them for cheap.

    Sure it isn't an off the shelf HP or Dell that you can pick up at Best Buy, but you can still get them.

    A cell phone actually syncs time with the tower it is connected to. If you travel the phone's time will change accordingly.

    Most people will not have to. Other companies will buy all the media overseas, import it in bulk and undercut the current price that the media company sells it for to make a profit. Then the media company will either raise the prices overseas so such a process is no longer profitable, or lower the price of what they sell here to reduce the profit margin for the importers to force them out of business.

    Why not use Flashblock so no flash appears until you hit the play button? That way only one flash that you specifically click gets played.

    Maybe, just MAYBE the companies want the machines to be able to be hacked by the Right People. So when word gets out that these machines have flaws that anyone with the right tools and knowledge can control it makes things harder for the company, and those Right People get miffed.

    Have you ever read Peter F. Hamilton's Pandora's Star? If not you might want to look it up. It is an epic space opera with the premise that humans develop wormhole travel before they develop starship interplanetary travel. Be prepared for a long read though.
