I wish prices would come down, I have an old kodak brownie from ~1914 that works perfectly (mechanically), but they stopped making the film some decades ago...
It can be retrofitted to hold some newer type of film but it would be the perfect digicam in disguise.
* There should be an element of care in every matter concerning the public domain
* The eventual expiration of works into the public domain is a vital part of mechanisms that are in place to ensure our society is enriched by the contributions of engineers and artists while still granting said creators a reasonable reward for their effort, and for this simple reason the public should care about its domain.
* The the synchronous end-to-end release of intellectiual property enhances business partifluence through a synergistic process known as loss. While one mans loss is a loss not to be ignorifisticaly diplomatized, the expansion of the domino publico enhances ROI for all entities outside the OCC+ and it we can therefore conclude the significance of caring for it has a distinguished magnitude blah

The correct thing would have been to walk up to the guy and say "Do you really think the library is the place to do that?", without identifying themselves as Police/whatever the hell they are. Do it as civilians.
It's also worth mentioning that a few site downloaders (search engine spammers) and bad bots use a fake googlebot user agent. It's a fairly good indicator that someone is banworthy when that user agent comes from outside google's ip ranges. You may find yourself automatically banned from a lot of other sites.
The point would be that having mysql availible on Linux would boost RHEL/Novell sales, I don't think it would matter to redhat if they couldn't dual license it. After all, they can't with Linux.
I'm aware of the dubious legality of EULAs and would love to see the issue taken to court.
I wasn't talking about the the legal situation, I was talking about what MS is selling, and it sure isn't accountability. The problem is though, a lot of execs think they are.
Read the MS EULA.. They can't be held accountable for anything.
What they offer is paid support. 3rd party paid support is often availible for OSS, but some exec's probably feel it need to come directly from the maker.
I believe the non-compete clauses in work contracts that are common in the US are illegal in sweden (mysql AB is swedish).
Imagine this scenario:
* oracle tells recently bought mysql "don't improve mysql" * mysql ab employees are pissed off because they like their db * novell/redhat thinks mysql is important for their linux sales * they hire said grumpy mysql employees to work on the GPL version
== mysql development continues and oracle just wasted a lot of money.
Thought I had to mention this to cover my back: There are of course assholes that act like kids anyway, I'm not suggesting the world suddenly turns strictly rule-obeying and correct the day you turn 25. A lot of people just get different priorities/ less time on their hands.
Your feeling of premature adulthood is probably quite true. The thing is you're still in a situation that expects you to act like a kid. When you move out and get a good job you will have a better time.
In my experience the maturity needs to be accompanied by independence.
Yes, but the game programmers and marketers are going to get old to. They will be able to market and make stuff for their own generation when they get older.
Go to weird art shows in the bay area, get the makers of the weirdest pieces to come up with some insane ideas for you. You only need them for 3-4 hours and they probably need the cash:)
Then take their crazy crazy half-baked concept ideas and make them into a usable story.

Hey slashdot, read it and apply it to this article. In fact, apply it to every other article on /.
Thanks.

Cool. I was trying to figure out how you could not like him but still write insightful posts... :)
:)
Which books do you like best? The man in the high castle or the more Ubik/game players of titan/flow my tears style?
I seriously started to question reality after reading the game players of titan in one night..
Do you or don't you like PKD? Why PKDhead?
I'm surprised you wrote that post without mentioning DDR, the ultimate game of the type.

If you use mutt you can have it dump html email to plaintext with elinks. I would imagine pine can do something similar.
I'd say it's way better than the average DVR. The client-server model is extremely useful.
I have 4 frontends (living room, bedroom, laptop, other pc), all of which stream the shows from the server.
By the way, take a look at the Retro theme and the interface theme made by the same guy, they're far better than the mythtv-supplied themes.
I want Berkeley back!

Maybe they make it less hassle (global for the domain) by setting G servers up as MX?
(too lazy to rtfa..)
Do you really have any doubt they'll get some?
Zend doesn't give Zend Studio (love it!) away. Or were you refering to the zend engine/php?

I shorted google when they were at $440 :)
