Free net tv isn't free, they may not charge for the stream but for many it still counts against bandwidth limits. When I turn on my tv connected only to an antenna... that is free tv. Except of course for the brain burn causesd by advertising but that is a whole different story.
How about camping a monster for 4+ hours and not even bothering to check if a gm is taking you to task because someone complained they couldn't train off the same monster. Now I haven't played WOW but if it is like any of the other mmorpgs training type monsters are in a limited supply and hogging one for hours is simply unacceptable behaviour. Presumably the gm's have the ability to interact with players regardless of any do not disturb functionality and ignoring them is not going to help your cause. It isn't likely about linux nor even macros. It is about not paying attention to the game. Let me guees this guy used the macros without checking the game. Healed himself regularly whether he needed it or not, never checked his chat buffer scrollback, etc. Pehaps he should have been given a warning... maybe he was in game. Failure to respond to a gm is a pretty serious indication of bot-like activity and not all the gm's in the world are as mature as they could be.
This article is a little misleading as is the headline. If you read carefully you will realise that it was just some guy running a server on leased line. He wasn't what would be typically called an isp. Certainly he was web-hosting but it was essentially his own web-site he was hosting. If an ISP such as Rogers or Sympatico the cable and phoneline base carriers were hosting such a site for one of their customers they would be allowed to just deny the customer service. There is no indication in the article that these guys were anything but an end point and there is no mention of where their bandwidth actually came from.
So get a grip, this is not that significant.
umm I did that back in the eighties, I think. Why would I want to pay so much for a rerun? Heck it was a rerun even back then. I saw it first on a black and white tv in the 60's for free!
I always said it was an alien armada, now they are building a second ginormous space station. think how much power you could generate from windmills in the upper atmosphere !
that Google has been buying up dark fibre all over the place? Why exactly should Verizon be able to charge Google for what will amount to the last mile?
They trashed my torrenting. I was getting the full 300k from torrent then couldn't get 10k. when I complained by email they sent me this reply:
We understand your concerns regarding issues you are experiencing with
your peer-to-peer (P2P) applications. To ensure a consistently high
level of service for all Rogers customers, it is necessary to put limits
on the amount of network bandwidth available for certain types of
applications. This process is called traffic regulation (rate-limiting,
traffic shaping, throttling).
As peer-to-peer (P2P) applications have grown in popularity, their share
of overall network traffic has increased dramatically. In particular,
the application Bittorrent uses all of the space available for uploads.
To ensure that a relatively small number of applications do not slow
service for everyone, Rogers limits the space available for P2P uploads.
This ensures all customers have a high level of service for
time-sensitive tasks like sending email, requesting web pages or voice
messaging.
Rogers does not block any type of Internet traffic or application. Nor
do we monitor the content of customer communications or activities on
the Internet. Our traffic regulation is based on the type of
application, not the way it is used.
What a crock. I paid for the bandwidth and they hosed me big-time. I tested this by downloading various linux torrents that were well represented.
Anyone know what else I can use to fully use my upstream bandwidth? I suppose I could 'wget -N' a static link in a continuous loop to saturate the bandwidth.
largely, I suspect, because the south pole is on land and the north pole is not. Also wouldn't there be more interference from nuclear subs passing by all the time?

The only one I can think of is Boot Hill I think it is out of print. Can't think of any that are on the computer...
Hopefully they'll cross the border into Canada so we can take target practice on them. Skeet shooting anyone?
form a guild for the express purpose of pking him repeatedly over and over until his online life is unpalatable....

isn't it just a little scary that governments keep trying to fulfil the prophecy?

real blonde and redheaded girls, although I think the Chinese are working on it....

I used up 60 gigs in 2 weeks just tuning the stupid launchcast personal radio feature my ISP offers. Haven't listened to it since.
