    Free speech needs to be close to absolute, but definately not absolute.

    how many other murders have made slashdot...

    and like i said, no offense to the family, but people are not concerned with her murder, just like you are not concerned with every other murder in the US over the last 24 hours..

    But what benefit does that give the user.

    In all honesty I dotn give a shit if it is integrated, I just want one nice peice of software to control it, ala iTunes or whatever. One program to do what it does well, not 100's of apps that work sort of.

    Some explanations for committing a crime are valid in the courts, but those are very few and far between...mental illness (a genuine mental illness), self defense, necessasity. etc

    those are valid reasons, but the courts have moved away from attempting to explain every crime in terms of it being outside factors that influenced the person. Unless it is a direct cause, ie mental illness

    Most businesses simply dont have those demands...Yes, large businesses do, but that isnt of concern for the hundreds of thousands of small to medium sized businesses in the US.

    Um pay for it yourself...it isnt hard. Work full time over summer, save some money, live cheaply. Millions of students do that every year. Take a few small loans (if necessary, many times it is not), get some small grants ($200 here, 200 there adds up on your tuition bill quickly) a couple of scholarships.

    Seriously, you can go to a good college and be completely self sufficient. He obviously is a hard worker so that wont be a problem dedicating himself.

    I think you missed the point, if your satisfaction in life is coming from your job/work (school etc), you have some serious issues that need to be handled before you explode.

    As a network admin, I ABSOLUTELY HATE that piece of shit known as genuine advantage. every few days it needs to install an update related to that junk. I dont care about microsoft's inability to control piracy, my licenses are legit, why should I have to interrupt my users to install that crap.

    I actually take pity on this kid. He was in such a hurry to get "to the next thing" he completely missed college.

    Sad honestly. College is a nice 4-5 years of your life of with barely any responsibility and a hell of a lot of fun. What is waiting for you after college. Answer: a career, have fun with that for the next 50 or so years of your life, i dont think putting that on hold for a year is gonna matter much in the end.
