did you read 2 B i ? it says you can install it once on EVERY machine you own... if you have 4 macs in your house that are yours... a single $29 upgrade gets all of them.
of course Apple wont touch your needs, they don't even attempt to. Taking something that isn't even designed for your needs, and complaining it doesn't fit right in some way.. is kind of asinine...
in other words.. taking a laptop not designed for what your wanting, then complaining it costs too much, is not Apples fault.
yeah... you can actually get that game running but its not really worth it... from someone else i talked to that got it working, and the report of someone getting it working on Wines app database... they couldn't get joysticks working which would make it a real pain to dogfight with a keyboard and mouse...
I'm thinking i could steal one for free... but doesn't mean its gonna happen.
I'd like you to show proof you could build a system just as good for a third of the cost.... everyone else who has tried failed.. mainly by using standard Core i7 processors instead of the Xeon versions, which are better, not just a rebranding, and can cost 4X-5X as much.
well other than the fact your using different parts altogether... a single Xeon processor thats in the Mac Pro costs $1000 from intel, not $288... their custom motherboard design and lower sells amount would also make the motherboard way more costly than mast produced ASUS stuff.... as well as many other things.
You can rate an entire computer based on a small handful of specs when there are literally hundreds of specs to consider for a full machine.
there are expensive glue traps that actually drug the glue, so it knocks out the victim, so they aren't awake to suffer.. and slowly kills them over time faster than normal starvation by not getting enough oxygen. They are expensive so most people don't use them, or they use the cheap knock off ones that claim to do it and barely work.
ummm...
Have you used the test versions? they need to do a lot.. NeoOffice has taken the OOO code base and made a better product... already supporting some things that OOO cant do until 3 is out. Unless OOO does something majorly different soon, I'll be happy to stay with NeoOffice, as its fast, stable, and well supported. And remeber to always up the memory usage by OOO and NeoOffice as well, unless your on a really old peice of junk computer, as it'll run much faster... even on OSX.
well of course not everyone is the same... i too hate touchpads, but I absolutely love the ones on Apple machines, they are unlike any other laptops touchpads. But those I'm glad you liek those crapy little track point things, your the first person I've seen that actually likes those... I cant stand them at all. I have yet to see any built in pointing device on any laptop that I like, except the Apple touchpads. Really wish I could get an external one to use on my desktops.
There is no way someone will make a laptop that every feature everyone will like. Claiming one thing is really bad in something and something else is really good, is nothing but opinion. Just because its your opinion, doesn't mean is the most popular opinion. I sure wouldn't assume one would sell better or worse int he market just over what i preferred on it.
you do realize that they are talking about really being at that altitude, pressure wise and everything. Being in an Airplane at 10,000 feet and being on a mountain top thats 10,000 feet you think is the same? You do realize that airplanes are pressurized with an inside atmosphere thats maintained to be a ALOT less than the planes real altitude. Try flying a plane at 10,000 feet with the door open and see how good you feel, let alone your laptop usage.
only if your hacking the game, or something is very messed up.
There are tricks you can do, (mostly scripts in items you attach) that other people have made that will allow you to do this, but by default you cant walk through objects, or even other people.
most people use it as either a business tool, or for recreation. Being recreation isn't a game, anymore than going to watch a movie can be called playing a game.
you can do basically anything in SL, way above and beyond anything WoW can do. If you cant make things yourself, thats why there are others who operate businesses there.
if you get 5fps on your C2D system, you have something set up really bad. My laptop with a Core Duo (not Core 2) I can get 30+ FPS. Yes in some areas is slower, but you do realize the graphics requirements are far far FAR more demanding on your hardware than WoW.
there was no retraction. he initially mislead people and kept on doing it, and kept claiming things were possible, yet only proving something else completely when asked for proof. He acts completely like a politician, he cant answer a question asked to him, he has to twist it around to how it suits him best to get attention.
your right that the Mac mini is like over a year old with no updates or price changes and is way overpriced... but thats it. Your comments on the Mac Pro show you do not know much about "workstation" level hardware... you even admit it wasn't a dual socket board you used...Which means you didnt even price how much a Xeon system would cost.
Sure you can build a highly specific machine that meets your individual needs usually cheaper than buying a pre-made system... but thats about all you proved pricing out your parts at newegg... nothing to do with Apple. The Mac Pro is even cheaper than Dell workstations with similiar configuration.
People get upset about Apple being "overpriced" not because they are, but because they simply do not understand that Apple has no want to compete in all areas of the market. They take Apple machines focused at a different area of the market and try to fit it into their comparisons. Apple really doesn't want everyones business... if you want to custom build a machine with the exact parts you want... you know what... Apple does NOT want your business at all...
I'm waiting for Star Trek Online, and Stargate Worlds... I think they have more of a chance at a big change... maybe its just because I'm sick of the medieval type MMOGs.
I dropped IT after many years and became a nurse, it is much more rewarding, and you still get to troubleshoot a lot.... just people instead of computers.
Perp tech is faster than non-perp tech, but not by that much. Benchmarks of 2 120gb drives... one a 5400 perp, and one a 7200 non-perp, the 7200 was slightly faster, but they were very close.
there is no way a perp 4200 200gb is faster than a 100gb 7200 drive... but yes the 200gb should be almost as fast as a 200gb 5400 rpm non-perpdrive would be if one was even made.
1000 people who actually found some thread on a message board and bothered to make an account to post.... would be a small fraction of the people interested, but have no idea the thread exists....
could 1000 people turn into 100 sales? sure, it could also turn into 10,000 sales.... its all random guessing.
actually they were supposed to have Mac, Linux, and Windows all on the same CDs. The game was released as Windows only. weeks later you could download a linux client, that required use of the Windows CDs. Everyone that bought and playing the "Linux Version" gave sales information that they bought it for Windows. They contracted out the Mac version to a different company altogether and it showed up MUCH later.
Bioware (who worked on NWN1, but not 2) tried to track Linux usage by downloads of the clients. I dont believe they subtracted anything from the Windows sales figures though. Also i know that other websites hosted the download as well (unofficially) and people often gave copies around. I had some NWN gaming with friends and gave my full installed working copy to others to play on linux, and they used their own Windows bought CDs, but never really downloaded anything from bioware.
The problem is Atari really has no idea who ran it on Linux and who didnt, because it wasnt even attempted to be tracked right.

only because you have no clue what your doing... you do not know how to compare machines correctly.
well other than the fact your using different parts altogether... a single Xeon processor thats in the Mac Pro costs $1000 from intel, not $288... their custom motherboard design and lower sells amount would also make the motherboard way more costly than mast produced ASUS stuff.... as well as many other things. or... Cider: because you were too cheap and/or stupid to use a decent API in the first place.

why would it be 19 in Alabama? age of consent in Alabama is 16...

really? funny the ATI cards seem to run better than nvidia cards right now on OSX, though I'm sure its just driver issues.

Right now, you probably wouldn't need to. 2 to 4 years from now there will be Vista only software that wont run in XP (if MS has their way).
yes VMWare runs on OSX, but how is that an alternative, when thats the exact thing that the lower versions of Vista prohibit?

NWN is NOT a MMORPG... there was never a monthly fee for the game, its a normal one time pay for the game and play it forever... type game...
