    Let's see what the anti-global warming people are proposing: 1. Sunspot activity is low so we are in a cooling trend right now (but sunspot activity could go up any year now) 2. Add tons of CO2 and yes an overall rising level of CO2 is measureable. How come no warming trend? Skeptical GW people point out: 1. that in order to lower CO2 levels you need more green plants and the ability to sequester CO2. 2. The long period of making more CO2 cannot be instantly countered and it takes years to reduce the levels that will become too late to reduce. What is the threshold amount of CO2 level that is dangerous? Cynical GW people point out: 1. We may never have another opportunity to stop the increasing levels of CO2. When you reach it, it will be too late to save mankind.

    Let me say this, idiots that don't take care of the new lithium batteries will spur the need for more idiot proof batteries. The article mentions that you should not introduce any amount of water near these types of batteries. Since water is very common, do not put both an idiot and this battery near each other. At ten times the energy output, it may be 10x more dangerous.

    You can get a monitor card for your computer and view whatever is on your monitor onto your HDTV. Some HDTV has a card slot so that you can project JPeg on your HDTV. My PSP (slim) only requires a $20 cord adaptor to project JPeg or movies onto a television screen YMMV.

    The prevailing main argument is who has the money to pay for the vaccine. If India or China can pay for it then let them have some. The highest bidder usually wins, despite your bias to send it to only certain countries.

    If they really sounded off they would have given more details. Instead the title is misleading and it is only a slight mention of discomfort. If they were really mad they would have heads rolling. If they wanted more publicity, they could have canceled the E3 presentation.

    Now if they allow You Tube to play via internet, that is an adult thing to do. Unfortunately Pro Duo memorysticks are out and you are required to buy micro memorystick. At least you can play videos and music like an adult.

    My boss has stopped repairing televisions and just does new television installations. There are still a few television repairmen but they can probably survive in Los Angeles because parts are more available than other cities.

    That big Brother is lobbied by various groups so it is best to also lobby Big Brother against other lobbyists. Now if you are a betting person, whenever it seems like the non-violent lobby is going to win, it is best to dump your stock in EA before it tanks.

    I can use my IR on my Sony to remote control my television (though cable box is not synced). I also have a tape recorder (wav) and a low res camera. If I encounter a long internet article I can download it on Plucker and read it later. I am saving this slashdot article to read later...

    Sky lab was hurried to put together and the only tragedy was that they couldn't keep it in orbit. I suppose the Chinese attempt will also end in falling from space if they can't figure out how to refuel it and keep it higher in orbit.

    Or maybe the scientists are running around in circles? The goal is to figure out a way to bottle up plasma (for fusion energy harvesting). Since the magnetic bottle has not proven to be viable.

    That private industry already sends satellites into space (for telecomunications and direct TV) but commercial enterprise for landing on the moon is limited at best to either making it a stepping stone to the planets or as a mining venture. You can't put a price tag on landing on the moon, as opposed to sending satellites into orbit. Bigger payload rockets may pay off in the long run, but not landing on the moon.

    Scooters get better gas mileage than a car but if you are war driving maybe you need more privacy since some people still get tagged for war driving. Usually vibration is less in a car. I wonder how far they can drive before the connections become loose and the whole apparatus stops working?

    I'm in favor of microloans but you need infrastructure to distribute such loans. If the diaspora keeps sending money and returns to their villages there will be signs of progress.

    Cell phones and communication with the diaspora will help in the future, look at Armenia and the Philippines where their diaspora are a big help to their economies.

    Then again the deportation of American rejects to El Salvador (MS-13) was not a good idea either...

    That they didn't panic because some of those problems were small bugs. When they came to introducing the internet over a phone they had to compromise out flash files which to me means they chickened out offering a crippled internet usage and a weak or less than functional internet browsing. They did offer a superb camera with more Megapixels which camera phone users have grown accustomed to having...

    Yes their website was slow in uploading, probably due to the slash dot highlighting. Even if you had high speed dsl you still have to wait in line for their server to recognize you.

    Some of those gigantic beasts can really cost ya. I installed a giant for USC and they had us return it before a week was over because it stopped working. This was only an $8,000 beast but yes a lot of bugs need to be worked out of TV LCD HD TV that are over 60 inch diagonal. The DLP televisions are still very good, but the larger the set, the more options have to be offered, like internet viewing and other hookups. There are some rumors that Plasma production is slowing down, but early adopters risk being abandoned later...
