    Is it similar to the OSX section, where you get all OSX-compatible games in a big jumble, unable to apply categories like "RPG" or "Shooter" to further limit the listing?

    I'm more surprised that they were so close.... That's actually a vote in favour of the Apple offering, because Apple's slower processor with half the processing cores will use less battery....

    Is not quite that simple - the quad-core 1.4GHz might be able to finish some intensive operations significantly faster than the dual-core 1.3GHz, allowing it to go back to a low-power state earlier and save more battery.

    Request the guy/gal behind f.lux to write a similar tool for your lights (might need to incentivize the person).

    I should expect that a lot of the eventualities that a Desktop OS has to contend with would be removed from a Game OS - PCs is all about concurrent multitasking, running multiple processes to optimize the CPU and RAM usage, with lots of inputs (IO from controllers, keyboard and several "random" networked processes), while a dedicated console could cut down on those, making a "smoother" and simpler kernel.

    note: when they say the PS4 will multitask, they are moving into Desktop OS territory, but I strongly doubt it is pre-emptive multithreading/multitasking in the style a Desktop OS would do.

    My experience with Linksys consumer routers is that they are crap. IMO they were only damaging Cisco's brand. Good riddance for them.

    My experience with anything from Cisco for use at home is that it is crap - whether it is Cisco Linksys routers or Cisco IPTV boxes. Somehow I'm not convinced that it is Linksys, that is effing up Cisco's brand.

    My old Nokia Symbian had DLNA/UPnP and VoIP/SIP support out of the box.
    My brand-new Samsung Android has neither, but requires me to download 3rd party apps for this.

    Yes, we have a monarch (Constitutional Monarcy), and a democratically elected government (Representational Democracy).

    The queen is our head of state, and as such we do not have a truly free country - I'd still keep it, since I like our monarch, I like some of what they do and represent.

    So you are right on the technicalities - wrong on the whole dumping royals, at least as far as emotions go*

    *: Emotions arent part of the equation, I know - but your statement betray a hint of emotion.
