I imagined to build a car pc with a lot of features: music (via wifi, usb, memory cards), videos, connection with the existing car system, radars, alarms, radio, bluetooth,..
The big problem is to find a good software for the gps (map included). Tomtom should be a great choice..
It's a well known problem !
In any company with a security baseline defined, you must change the default password.. and also the default login when it's possible (to decrease the possibility of bruteforce attacks).
If it is not done, either you don't have any baseline to follow or they are not applied.
In any case, it's work for the security team or the testers !
Do we have already an idea about the choice of the distribution ? A commercial distribution or more common ?
It's maybe the beginning of a worldwide change at the education level...
If the TV channels really vandalized to see the reaction time of the community, the test is a success
I think personnaly this kind of test is stupid if you don't warn Wikipedia Inc it self..
I hope that the cellular companies will release their future firmware as an open source licence. We will be able to modify it, improve new functionnalities, cutomize it !
The firmware of my current cellular (sony ericsson) has a lot of bugs and many functionnalites are missing that I cannot add with the J2ME apps.
An open source firmware will be usefull for everybody.
is it possible to download an iso file of OpenSolaris ?
On the solaris website, only the source files and some tools are ready to download.
Schillix (which is based on OpenSolaris) is available in iso file.
I tested it and it works good. I couldn't load a 'big' excel or csv file (1.5 Mb) but I wrote a bug report with the online tool.
I think that this kind of online application had a lot of potential. Coming soon, many applications will be ported online thanks to AJAX and the webservices (.net, RoR, JSP/JSF, SOAP,..).
If you use GNU/Linux for your cluster, you won't pay any licence. So, for the same cost, you can buy more computers and you will have more calculation power, so your cluster will be efficience..
Huummm it's perfect to synchronize the bookmarks when you use a dual boot or if you are very mobile.
I already tested the extension "Bookmarks Synchronizer" but it didn't work perfectly.
ZDNet reports: "Sony expects to post a 100 billion yen ($884 million) operating loss at its game division in the current fiscal year due to costs related to the PS3 launch."... "PlayStation 3, which is scheduled to hit the U.S. market on Nov. 17, will be priced at as much as $599, while Xbox 360's premium version that is already in stores costs $399." More information here
What's about the price of the RFID chip and the human intervention ?
I think that it must be really expensive..
Isn't the biometry safer for a lower price ?
The best pratice is "don't put a high loaded home page due to a huge flash animation" !

A lot of systems are based on QNX, such as the new Cisco operating system, IOS-XR.
I'm happy to see a RTOS in the open source family !
... no liberty of choice anymore ! ;)

If there was no abusive advertising (huge banners flashing and disturbing the user) there was no need to use addon such as adblock..
Ror programmers, could you step out your websites ? What are the main advantages and disadvantages of Ror ? Thank you

You can also buy the spy cam on thinkgeek :)
The James Bond's perfect tools.
Big brother is watching you..
