Online Colleges Could Spy On Students - By Law

Bad title, Spying implies that you have no knowledge that it's happening. In this case, it would seem you have full knowledge you are being "spied" on.

  2. Easily Defeated on Online Colleges Could Spy On Students – By Law · · Score: 4, Funny

  4. Re:The Music Industry's Problem on Big Six UK ISPs Capitulate To Music Industry · · Score: 2, Interesting

Umm.. actually, I buy all my music off of iTunes because 99 cents seems reasonable to me. Full albums usually cost 11 dollars... Which begs the question why am I paying an extra 9 dollars to buy the cd and record stores? Just wondering? Since, you seem to be the expert in all these things. Also, last I've seen the artists seem to be doing pretty well for themselves, hell some of them are still doing pretty well for themselves long after they're dead because of silly copyright laws.

  7. The Music Industry's Problem on Big Six UK ISPs Capitulate To Music Industry · · Score: 2, Insightful

I see it. How come they don't? There would be no reason for this if the music industry decided to make two changes. First, they need to accept the new model of doing business. Clearly, the Internet has changed the landscape of things, and the old ways simply won't work as effectivly anymore. The second problem is that none of this would be necessary if the music industry decided to change their pricing model. Again, $20 is too much for a cd. I think if pricing was a little lower, it might cut down on the amount of "copyright infringement" cases. But no, the music industry would rather bully around whoever gets in their way. It's ridiculous, any other industry would change, or lower their prices, it just seems like there's a general lack of competition.

  14. Bugs me on Nintendo Loses Controller Patent Lawsuit · · Score: 1

What really bugs me about these kinds of lawsuits is the company seemingly had no avenue or desire to turn a profit off of their "invention" or "patent" other than through legal manipulation. If I were to go out and totally rip off the iPhone's touch screen interface then fine, sue me for all I'm worth, but if you are holding a patent in hopes that someone will eventually make something that violates it, you're simply 100% in the wrong here. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I actually have a patent on the up, down, left, and right arrows on keyboards, and they are kind of similar so I think this company owes me some of their profits.

  16. Re:re-written on World's Oldest Bible Going Online · · Score: 1

400 A.D. would make a hell of a lot more sense anyway. Since the article literally refers to it as, "The Bible" we would have to assume that this particular book had to have been written after the council of Nicea (ie: when all the religious writings of the time were compiled and voted on). My chronology may be wrong, but I believe that took place early 300 A.D. I know it was under Emperor Constantine who died around 315 A.D. (I'm simply too lazy to look up the exact dates.) That would easily make this one of the purest versions of the book in existance.

Loved the movie, loved the portrayal of the Joker, just one question. Who is the next Batman Villian? Since Ledger presumably rendered the Joker unportrayable (literally, I can't imagine anyone being able to even come close), I imagine they'll use someone else from the Batman universe, but who? My guess is the Riddler.
