She doesn't know the difference. Sure, YOU think she's a moron, but consider this, you buy a new car from GM. When you turn it on, the battery, which just so happens to be made by a contractor, doesn't work , YOU blame GM instead of the contractor because you don't know the difference.
Sure it's a silly example, but from her perspective thats what's happening.
I'm not all that religious, but just adding to that point, saying our country was founded "under god" in the National Anthem is an historically factual statement. Removing would be denying a fundamental belief of many of our founding fathers.
In one word, unenforcable. Can you actually imagine a cop hauling someone off because they dropped the "F Bomb"? Just because it's a law doesn't mean that people will be arrested or fined for it.
I wonder if this had anything to do with MS releasing new firmware that allows you to download the contents of the disc onto your hard drive. Sure, you need the disc to start the game, but the rest is entirely loaded from the hard drive. I find that the decrease in load time isn't that noticable.
I agree... strangely. As an employee of a company, my conversations are on their systems, using their resources, so I would have to assume that they own those conversations. If the CEO of our company wanted to pull my records, I would have to believe he was well within his legal rights. As such, we, the people, should be like the CEO of this country. They are using resources that we payed for, and they work for us. So, as such, it's time to hand over those records... and pay us millions of dollars a year.
You won't die from reformatting your machine to Linux or Mac OS (at least I don't think so). You're just compensating for the fact that most people (non-geeks) simply don't care.
People need to be reminded of the monopolistic software prison they live in. They don't have to use Windows, and there is better software out there.
Are you saying they should all switch over to Mac? I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Mac locks down their software just as much as Microsoft. Maybe they are locked into Windows for the most part, but the fact is the majority of people simply don't care. It works for them, and they're fine with that.
No, and if I was making the point that Microsoft is "awesomer" than Google, you'd be right, but I'm not. All I'm saying is maybe it isn't in Google's best interest to compete with Microsoft in every single avenue.
I think it's time for Google to embrace OpenOffice.org to take on Microsoft head-on, as CW blogger Preston Gralla has argued for and described how to go about it.
Doesn't this really depend on whether or not Google WANTS to compete head to head with Microsoft. You don't make business decisions out of spite.
Sorry, once the government has adopted something you can't get rid of it. You can change it for better or worse (usually worse) but it is there for ever.
Give him a break - lots of the US hasn't figured out there's a rest of the world yet!
Of course we have! Thats where the terrorists live.

The chest was not fake. Numerous anecdotes from Nicholas Meyer to Harve Bennet to the makeup guys will vouch for how cut that guy was.
Yeah, even George Takei had some strange fascination with him........
He's not the first black President. He's the first hipster President.
Clearly you're forgetting the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes.
Nintendo Wii? Oh you mean that thing I pick up once or twice a year when I'm having parties...
Actually, the vice president used to be the guy who came in second place in the Presidential elections. That would make for an interesting pairing.
I think you got that reversed. Catholic typically refers to Roman Catholic. All Catholics are Christians, not all Christians are Catholic.

So God's in the black hole or what ?
"What does God, need with a spaceship?"
couldn't help it.
and you who question my pride in the west for this freedom: you have something you wish to criticize about the west and its behavior?
I have something I'D like to critisize... ahref=http://xkcd.com/503/rel=url2html-2206http://xkcd.com/503/>. Sorry couldn't help it.
One more step to a non private world CHECK
Depends on what you upload. Census data isn't private.

$1 billion/(1person * 300Million X-Box's)=$3 ... sorry I'll shut them off when I get home :-(

The main source of the bibliographic records that are carried in library databases is a non-profit organization called OCLC
It was just a matter of time before one laptop per child wasn't enough... now they want all our bibliographic records!

... I'd expect this kind of BS from Sharp and LG but not from Chunghwa Picture Tubes.
In other non-news, news is a business. They will always sell what sells.
Only when Ron Paul drops out will I believe this election is over.
EA needs to make their games more accurate. The game should take a few billion years to play.

Like Prohibition?
No, like the metric system.
