    Blowup dolls don't have muscles... You'll have to wear it for them.

    Because so many people have strong views about the origin of life (thanks to religion).

    Religion plays a part in the lives of a significant number of people, whereas theoretical physics doesn't (from their perspective).

    Well, on my Vista PC at work, it took like 30 seconds to open a basic one page one... that's on a Core2. I'd say XPS already sucks compared to PDF.

    Aircraft land and spend a lot of time in maintenance. If they stay up there indefinitely they wouldn't get all that attention. Balloons would have less moving parts, but they could still fail. So could the emergency parachute they'd have. Hey, they could double as a weapon!

    Don't teach him anything.

    Provide him with a computer. Provide him with help when he asks (or not, figuring things out yourself is best).

    Show him how useful it can be to write programs to make the computer do whatever you want.

    If he wants to learn, he will. If not, bad luck.
