Are laws against cell-phones in cars really so poorly worded that they can easily be gotten around by changing the method by which the signals are transmitted? Somebody needs to get bitchslapped.
Can it work/twice/? They compare this to a domino effect. I dont recall any dominos volenteering to set themselves back up. Is this just one-shot proccessing? Nice idea, but I dont think this is the future, not in current form anyway.
My terminology is fine. I want to try out the KDE window manager, I dont want to try the rest which makes up the environment. That mean I want the whole desktop environment?
not install a spreadsheet, word proccessor, hex editor, and powerpoint clone, when you tell dpkg or apt to install a/window manager/ Since when is a powerpoint clone part of a window manager?

Are you sure you didnt nearly shit yourself? If you can't even bring yourself to type a word that you're already thinking, get the fuck off my internet.
Set up a few computers with bots hacked onto them and have the clients send out increments of MAC addresses, until all of them have been marked as cheaters. Once nobody can connect they wont be able to use the system anymore. Shouldnt take too long if a few people here help out.
Am I the only one who/likes/ lower-resolution games to be displayed in a tiny box? I mean, sometimes. I dont like having my resolution changed for a game that doesnt deserve it. Sorry guys, but Princess Maker 2 works great in DOSEMU in a small box, and I dont want it any other way.,, what?
I personally have loved apt-get enough to become lazy. However, not everything is availible as a dpkg. I'll compile something if I dont have a choice, but most things can be gotten as i686 RPMs, which really is a better choice since debian is still stuck with i386 for most purposes. But having an apt-gotten base system leads to all RPMs being installed with --nodeps. So my problem with debian is, as well as everything the article mentioned (installers referencing documentation which could easily be parsed by the installer, dselect being the worst thing ever, the availible kernels all sucking- I dont even bother with that part anymore, keep a kernel compiled for this computer ready to install from over the network) package-managers dont know about eachother. If I can apt-get install rpm, why can't the debian version of rpm come with an interface to or converter for the apt database? apt-get isnt that great by itself, either. A single broken package can destroy apt's usefullness. You can tell dpkg to forget about that package, but then any packages which were installed with it you need to find as well. When dpkg refusaed to uninstall gnome-terminal due to one of gnome-terminal's unmet dependencies, I was pretty sure that apt was no good. Something which could make apt better is to keep track of all the "extra packages" installed with something. So if I say apt-get install gnome, and it wants for some reason to install gnome-games [!?], I can just say apt-get revert gnome and have all of gnome's dependencies that were installed with it go out too. Is there a way to do this? If not, I guess I can program a wrapper and put it on sourceforge or something.
Jump. Good, you have just travelled radially outwards. Have you reached escape velocity? Nope. I'm not saying I agree with the guy who said you wont notice, and I definatly agree that there is extreme space-time distortion, but to say that space suddenly becomes as one-way enforced as time once you pass through a black hole? That doesnt seem right. Wouldnt a photon coming from the other side of the black hole pull a star-trek style slingshot right at your eye?
AOL sends out millions of discs every _Month_, trucking back a mere million discs is nothing but a waste of money. Especially when AOL just says 'Go Away'. Also take into account that this campaign to raise a million discs to send to AOL has been going on for YEARS. It just proves to AOL that their advertising is more effective than it is annoying.
I hear that to an outside observer, an object moving towards a black hole will never reach the event horizon. This seems very similary to the "Motion is impossible" problem. What if we fling YOU at a black hole? You will not slow down in relation to yourself, therefor you would reach the event horizon, right?
I dont understand, I see a lot of messages here saying that people dont want to switch from AOL because they dont want to change their e-mail address. If that's the case, maybe AOL is doing something right that we have been overlooking all this time. I can't imagine not changing my E-Mail address regularly enough that it be considered a regular event. does AOL really have spam under that much control?
do they cary Divi Dead, Critical Point, Tokimeki Check-In!, or any other such game. I hate censorship, but unless you expect these other games to show up at Wal-Mart, this isnt at all newsworthy. Besides, I seem to recall reading about a stalker/rapist sim that was in full 3d, I'm pretty sure that had nudity. Go fuck yourself "BMX XXX" bullshit.
That looks cool, but not what I'm talking about. I think there are other projects doing the same type of thing, though those focused only on the experimentation end. I think there was a slashdot article on one, maybe both of the ones I've heard of.
it would be nice to see, rather than just plain chroot with its own directories and such, a 'chmod jail', which acts as a symlink to other directories (no need to copy libs) yet makes certain alterations impossible for any user (even root)
Because of the "sweet spot" I can't help but call this display a 1d display. It shows depth, that's nice, but something isnt "three dimensional" unless you can move your head and see it differently. This current method with LCs facing in different directions will not lead to that technology..

You know, posting as AC a "Mod Parent Up" message doesnt help anybody.

See, this article gets rid of number 10. Guess you'll need something new to troll with now, eh?
it is. Read the article.
