Sorry but if the point of the study is to find out whether using Siri is dangerous, then the test should reflect typical usage. No one's interested in a study that shows whether or not Siri was designed to be dangerous, only whether it is. Your example is stupid because virtually no one drives a car with their knees, if many drove in this manner it would be a perfectly valid thing to test.
Great, another person who thinks that if you don't find a british show absolutely hilarious you must be a simple minded moron, it couldn't possibly be because the show's hosts aren't funny. Also, your comparison with a cooking show is stupid, a better comparison would be if the chef put BRAND X chicken into the oven, pulled it out and fed it to people who got sick. Then admitted it was all staged to show what could happen if the chicken were undercooked.
Now that you mention it, how come we never see Jack Thompson and Ted Alvin Klaudt in the same place at the same time? Does that seem suspicious to anyone else?
"So for every HIV+ patient, you need to find a donor who is not only of the right type, but is also naturally immune."
and who didn't have fish for dinner.
"If you could figure out a way to hook an old cellphone into your homebrew security system..."
My first thought was 'a security system for my homebrew - brilliant!'
"If your metabolism slows down, eat less"
Err, eating less (and eating less frequently) will make your metabolism slow down even further. Apart from that, how was that post modded interesting?
As long as the test can be/remain un-biased and can't be manipulated by the major parties, this has got to be the best idea for a voter-aid in a long time. To encourage voting (where it's not compulsary), make suggestions that don't necessarily revolve around two parties, and be seen to be neutral by the general public would make this an important tool to say the least.
I'm not sure of the validity of your point/s, but it sounds like a bit of a whinge. Maybe students from the Polish uni did better because they were smarter. Your whole post sounds like: 'If the universities in other countries taught their students properly, like in the US, American students would win.'
I guess the logic is: Students from some other country are winning, therefore, their universities must be terrible.

Does wanting a bigger screen than any current cell phone make me a fanboy?
If you'd read the article you'd know that this device is only for people who were born with sight. Natural selection is about rewarding 'good' genetic make-up, losing your sight in a car accident and then being left to die is not natural selection. Even if your suggestion was remotely viable, it wouldn't increase the overall health of the gene pool.
"Interesting logic: I must support Ian Clarke and his ideals of absolute freedom of speech, otherwise he might sue me for saying bad things about him?"
No, you won't get sued because you didn't support Ian Clarke. You might get sued for making libelous statements about him. It's the same as if I say: "bcrowell is a pedophile", I might get sued, not because I don't support you and your ideals of absoulte freedom of speech, but because I called you a pedophile.
It's hard to imagine downloadable 'classics' would be any more than $10, so 5 bucks is probably a good guess. I don't think the GP was trying to provide a literal translation.
Undo mod!!
I thought the joke was that only a tiny portion of the adult population are "healthy"
Strawman level 5 complete!

The ark never existed, amateurs just made it up. The Titanic was real and insured.

Are we on step 2 or 3?
1. First they ignore you
2. Then they ridicule you
3. ???
4. Profit!
Nah, olympic level cyclists can generate up to 2000 watts for brief periods and elite level road cyclists over 400 watts for periods up to an hour.
When I saw the icon, I thought tractor beams were being used to keep Paul Hogan within reach of the tax department.
Shit, this is a goddamn waste of time.

I agree. Also, would they be able to serve drinks during the flight please?
Hey don't laugh, back in my day we communicated with interplanetary space craft using semaphore... And yes, of course we liked it.
So what if it doesn't really make sense, I could care less about logical statements!
"easily, inexpensively, and safely " Pick any two.
