The ITunes Terms and Conditions uses the word license 98 times.
But this is all academic because the Conditions or Terms of Use are themselves, licenses. Read the usage rules and intellectual property sections of the ITunes T and C for a better understanding of this.
he adds, 'it becomes ever more clear that this is a company hell-bent on innovating first and asking questions later, if ever..
Um, when did it become ANY company's responsibility to do otherwise? And would we trust that it was asking the right questions if it was the only doing the questioning?
I'd agree with you, except when you purchase an MP3 you are not actually 'buying a product', you are licensing it's use. In the law, there's a big difference. Next time, look a bit closer at that huge agreement you skip past on iTunes, Amazon and the like.
Well, I read the article and still don't understand Bitcoin, the concept or the need for it. Just seems like a product without a real need other than the idea of being subversive. But perhaps I don't understand it at all. Of course that's why I come here.... So if any/.ers can explain this, I'm sure others would appreciate it as much as I would.
In a statement released by the Vatican Today, it was announced that his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI will step down with immediate effect. When asked for a reason, a spokesman for his former holiness suggested that he would like to spend more time with his wife and children.
I have to agree, as much as it pains me to do so. I'm all for freedom, but to do this is just irresponsible on their part. And before you all counter with "They just provide the access to the data, they're not using it to kill anyone", when is enough enough? When do we, as a people, stop doing things simply because we can without any thought given to the real consequences of our actions. Nobody NEEDS access to a 30 round magazine except the military - and possibly a SWAT unit. Period. And if I have to give up some freedoms to see that happen, I am more than willing to.
I think their argument is full of shit. No one held a gun to their head, either when they made such piss poor decisions that got them into the mess they created or when they stood in line for the bailout. And I know that I will never see dollar one of the money they would be awarded in any lawsuit, so don't argue that you're doing this on my behalf.
Frankly, I already made my money. I bought it at the firesale for a buck a share, on the day when they were declared "too big to fail". At the moment I am writing this, those same shares are worth 35.50. AIG is just pissed off that they couldn't do the same thing, a point made by another poster here.
The story or the synopsis posting... "Evidence of a gang rape committed by members of an Ohio high school football team, including video, was, in the way of digital native teenagers today, put online on various social media sites — and was quickly taken down as students began realizing the magnitude of the situation." Enough to make your ears bleed.
OK, the story itself is more disturbing, but c'mon editors; please read these posts before approving them. A touch of grammar saves the day.
I should add, I'm speaking only of the US Terms and Conditions here - if anyone want to cross check the other countries be my guest.

...and now I'm opted out. What's the big issue here?
If we engage in activites at TPB, are we now subject to rules of surveillance applying to terrorists?
and available on most of the file sharing sites. Holla if you need the torrent link.
Thanks for a cogent and even handed explanation. Now his "tantrum" makes more sense.

I did nazi that coming.
I'm surprised; it was heil on the hitler list.
+1. I was wondering the exact same thing; is this a "because it's there" type of thing or is there an actual use to calculating this number?
It's a mute point though.
It's a moot point. There, fixed that for you.
...or it didn't happen.
They need to pitch it to CIOs as they will be the ones placing the orders.
How would you like it if people stole all of your stuff and left you destitute, raw, and living in a VAN down by the RIVER!?!?!!!
SNL's lawyers would like a word with you when you're done here....
Seriously? They did it to make a point.
And that was my point; it is irresponsible to do it, 'just to make a point' without regard to the consequences.
And you're welcome to shoot yourself. You are not welcome to shoot me.
And if you look at the forums there, people are already asking for advice on how to do just that.

No, you're not, Mr. Deckard.
