discrete mathematics was my fav math course!
I went to the univ of new haven. its a small university in Connecticut with a very good school of engineering. We also have a forensic science department headed by dr. henry lee. just a little tidbit;-)
he only argument I must present to this is the experience I have had. Two years after I was enrolled in CS, my university staretd its IT program. Many of the same courses were required for both. I ultimately decided to start of my Junior year as an IT major. What I liked about it (and maybe not all colleges are like this) is the fact that I had more "tech" courses and labs and less courses in math and required lab sciences (bio, chem or university physics). Every single "computer theory" course (operating systems, digital systems, computer communication (the physics and theory not the networking and lab aspects), computer organization for example) I still took no matter what rout I would of taken...so the "science" was still there. The other difference was less programming (which, if you have a sharp mind, you can teach yourself any language after getting instruction for one). Some programming classes were replaced with tech classes such as networking, security, and some management classes such as engineering management, engineering economics (a class I am so glad I took, especially if I will be a project manager someday) and computer ethics (a great class if you like to hear the teacher ripping Microsoft a new one for placing the shutdown sequence in the "start" menu...but this course also had interesting history in computers and engineering).
The main thing you have to do is check out the universities of your choice. The most important thing is to like the professors' personalitys and make sure they have intellect. Thats why I choose my university. Generally CS is in the school of engineering (a good cs department will share alot of classes with industrial engineering). And IT is usually a shootoff from and established CS department (since its a newer field), so you will be able to switch majors without being required to spend any extra time past a traditional four years. Choose science your first year and if you really like the tech stuff more than the theory, than go the technician route.
I work at a volunteer run radio station in CT. One of our DJs also runs an internet radio station with several volunteer DJs as well. He has to shut down due to this rate hike. He said it went from about 700 dollars a year to 15g a year.
I used to work for, and was the assistant manager for a local college station: WNHU-FM.
I have a feeling that WNHU, and the few other college/community stations in Connecticut will be some of the last ones left. There are multiple stations for the same format and they all repeat songs. Even a "modern and classic rock" station that has the format ability to cover over 5 decades of rock repeats the same 200+ song playlist every day. I, for one, welcome our Satellite Radio overlords. At least it has variety and passionate DJs.
bit it is a stretch....
Bloggers breaking news stories and people using the internet to gather and distribute information in politics has planted the seeds that grew into the great change that recently happened in Washington.
Also, as people grow older, they all turn into women. So every old man you see is actually a woman.
I forgot what American minister uttered these words...but i know he had more "theories".
German parents don't seem to know how to watch their kids (the only real issue with violent videogames).
And another thing...the Germans, and the EU in general , have bigger violence issues with racism to deal with. They are just trying to find a scapegoat so they don't have to work on the real issue of neo-nazi skinheads and other hate groups trying to keep Europe "pure" (you know, since these people have never taken a bio class and have never learned that "pure blooded" is fantasy). It makes you wonder why the people in charge and always avoiding the real source of the violence (makes you wonder if they like Celtic Frost fans burning down churches).
Oh, and here is a disclaimer (since every other media outlet doesn't put this in, i feel obligated to): Not all skinheads are nazi's, just a few (who shouldn't be consiterd "skinheads" anyway). There are many skinheads around the world of many different races, religions and sexual orientations...Sorry, I grew up on that punk rock stuff...;-) (emotocon (c) Microsoft)
I can remember the last time that happened. Its just the difference between your local hardware store run by the grandson of the guy who started it...and Home Depot
This PSA is played on a local College Radio station in my area (wnhu.net). The ext was taken from the creator's website (downhillbattle.org):
PSA #1: Hypocrites (Approximately 80 seconds)
According to the major record labels, everyone who downloads a song off the internet is a thief. But there's a lot they aren't telling you.
For example:
Did you know that when you buy a major label CD virtually none of your money makes it to the musician? It's true: When you pay $15 for a CD, the artist royalty is about 75 cents.
But most major label artists don't even get that--musicians don't get any royalties until they pay back all the costs of recording and promotion. That means they don't get anything until they sell at least 500,000 or a million CDs! Here's another way to look at it: for most CDs at the record store, NONE of the money goes to the musician.
So when the major label CEOs tell you that sharing music is "stealing from musicians", they're
A) Lying through their teeth
and
B) Hypocrites
The real thieves are the corporate record labels, and giving them your money just perpetuates a system where musicians get screwed and independent music gets locked out of the mainstream.
The best part of all this is that--thanks to filesharing--the corporate record companies are dying off, while independent labels are thriving. Musicians, radio DJs, everybody. We finally have a chance to change the music business.
Don't buy major label CDs. Support independent musicians. Take back music.
In the wild, most animals need brawn over brain to survive. Humans and our close cousins the Neanderthals never had claws, huge muscle mass or size (although, the Neanderthals were luckier in that department), no significant "biting or ripping" teeth, a deadly internal poison or unpleasant spray (such as a bee or skunk), no masking mechanism such as a chameleon or a stick bug, speed like a cheetah, ext ext...
What do we have then? Intellect. What happens when we use that intellect? Tools. A hammer to bash a lion trying to attack our family, a spear to catch a fish since we lack the claws of a bear. Now that we have more sophisticated tools thanks to the finding of masonry than fire than community than language than electricity (I'm sure that order is somewhat correct, but you get the idea). As our intellectual evolution progressed, our tools became more sophisticated (until you count the European dark ages which made science into witchcraft: which is why it took European gearsmen over a thousand years to mimic something as sophisticated as the Antikythera Mechanism http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/11/ 23/2242225). So I assume that humanity's "natural selection" includes the maricles that technology can perform...such as keeping a diabetic functioning somewhat normally.
Just a post Thanksgiving meal thought:-)
Thats the point. If I created and wanted to market a game, I would spend a few days programming and animating in something contraversal like this to use the current (and foolish) political climate for for advertisment. Constantly offended people need to realise that:
a. Nobody "normal" cares, and
b. They are helping the product/idea/art they are trying to ban.
ooooOOOO You snapped me like a turtle!
by the way, logic was the only form of math i was good at in college (discrete). I honestly dont know why. My Discrete Mathmatics teacher told me it was "because you are comfterble with the possibility of only one solution, instead of that crap they teach in calc." (almost a direct quote).
I honestly get my news from 4 main sources:
Indie Media, Comedy Central (The Daily Show, Colbert Report), Stephanie Miller and of course/.
I do read my local paper and i do read my local weekly liberal rag as well as carouse some news sites, and all are pretty decent as far as the "fair and balanced" fiasco goes. But the four sources i refer to at the top are national. Notice there is no ABC news, Sux News, CNN or anything else.
I blame the sucess of TDS on Jon Stuart. The man is extremly smart and sharp. Craig Kilborn ran TDS like a frat house.

It wasn't a three headed wolf she saw, or a pack of wild wolves. It was 3 heads of a wolf flying around in a gravity vortex.

Also, 1080 does not exist on the 360. Its some weird 540 format, doubled...
Once I switched my 360 over to 720 from 1080, it looked much better.

Oh so have I. I bet that stuff is worth a ton of money! My pride and joy...SSD: Get it Away. Worth over 150 bucks to boston hardcore fanboys.
I'm going to have nightmares. This Peter from Office Space ("Corporate Account [jibberish] speaking, Just a moment").
I bet that customer service rep was a fat redhead too.
You can hide it, but computers count from zero...
Isn't that known as the slutty little neighbor of the sub-atomic world?
How am I supposed to type my report tonight?

Oh yea, disconnect the internet. Goodbye

Wheres the diarrhea warning? Any self-respecting perscription has that side effect.
Too bad it'd take years to figure out the dynamics of its matrix. But when you do, you'd be rich beyond the dreams of Averase.
How about your brother hack us a mirrir.
