Because combat and looting are the systems that really need the rules the most. I'd rather the DM make subjective calls in diplomacy than combat. Looting isn't so much rules as it is tables to generate loot on. That doesn't mean D&D should focus heavily on combat and really its up to how creative your DM is. It is a roleplaying game after all, the roleplaying is up to you. Its nice that they didn't make excessive rules for non-combat situations because it gives players more freedom and incentive to be creative than forcing them to be tied down to a few rules.
These are great. It tells me right away that WoTC is going to fill the new manuals with DRM "enhanced content as soon as it KNOWS you own the physical product"...
but aren't they paying for it on their end? So shouldn't they get to say how you view the content they created? You like control when its your control. You're not the only one using the internet.
That depends on the method of customization. If its available as a virtual appliance configurable through a web interface (think zenoss) then no, it doesn't really matter. Honestly if someone is reading slashdot and isn't a linux guru..what are we doing helping them?;)
if its web based..no you don't need it to run under windows. Its why god invented virtual machines. Web based means the back end should be completely transparent to the users and it doesn't matter if its run on a gerbil strapped to a hamster chasing a toaster.
"...muddying up the waters of distribution selection..."
I think at this point, adding a single new distribution isn't really muddying. When the list of distributions is as long as your leg, one more doesn't really make things that hairy.
and caused me to lose 4 months of e-mail. I just formattted last week and thought I was clever by having my docs and program files on another hard drive. Made backing up a snap. The only thing on my c: worth saving was the mozilla profile directory with my bookmarks and mail. Oh..guess what? Mail is no longer in the mozilla subdirectory (yet was in March the last time I backed that directory up and restored from it). Something like this should have been announced with a TV and radio campaign, or at least some bright red flashing shit that pops up the first 10 times after you upgrade it.
What's missing from the home experience isn't the cabinet, its the people and the loud environment. North Americans are more interested in being frugal than social.
The point was the parent claimed laptops were no good at 3D gaming, he didn't say they were bad because they couldn't be upgraded, he flat out stated they were no good at 3D gaming.
amazing that was modded up. My Dell M1710 has a 7900 GTX in it with 512MB of dedicated RAM. Also a Core 2 Duo at 2.0GHz..its really bad at playing games too..
Wasn't it the guy game or one of those similar games released with a nude 17 year old contained within (that was only discovered AFTER the game was released). Animated guys kissing vs underage nudity in the US... I guess that is a pretty tough call on which would get more blown out proportion...
If reputable companies do it, someone will write something to scan for them. Its not like there is only 1 company in business who has a 100% market share.
my computer is regularly scanned, there are no trojans, but thank you for baseless assumption as though its fact. Nor is the name anything obvious like that.
That's funny. I've got a gmail account I've never used. Only created and logged in. I get about 300 spam a month to it. Never once used it on a site or put it in a form, or heck, even gave it to anyone (I have another one I use which gets an equal amount of spam).
I use trillian on a regular basis, but it doesn't support everything. I even paid for it and got Pro. While it may be less resource intensive, it is not a perfect replacement.
I simply said not everyone has screens covering every inch of window on their house. You're the one who thought that was an affront to civilized living.
its not censored in the US so using "as well" there makes your sentence confusing.

now if we could get an extension that requests it but doesn't show it then we're golden..

This wasn't done on OLPC laptops. Not only did digg have the story before you, it was correct.+ donated-laptops-to-surf-the-porn-of-course-280715. php

The OLPC manufacturers were just asked about what they'd do. That was there only relation to the story.

tell me someone has put a video of that on youtube.
Heck, Legend of Dragoon is a PS1 title and is given their lowest rating for playing in software mode.
