I upgraded and got a helpful "just swipe to see other apps" help bubble stuck on my screen, I don't have a touch screen so couldn't swipe it, and nothing I did with keyboard or mouse would remove it.
I had to Google how to disable help tips and edit the registry - not a friendly os. still haven't got it to boot to desktop instead of metro either
I agree its a few years old. I tried to do this 5 years ago bit got stuck on the rendering a larger view area at lower resolution overlapping but not including the main focal point. I saw in their last demo they used opensource game and must have resolved this issue. but I was trying for a more generic approach and actually thinking only of a desktop view
atleast the packet has legal protection in australia, the government owned physical packet switching network known as 'australia post' has huge legal protection over every single packet switchted through the network, unlike digital networks. even retaining the header (sender/reciever) data is illegal, and any deep packet inspection will be met with the full force of the federal police. so from a legal perspective the data is a lot safer in post than in your email inbox
Good. Now that all the speculation is over, can we accept that the USA is broken and just route all internet traffic around it? Surely the rest of the infrastructure is grown up enough to do without the rotting corpse that may have started the internet but is now too foobar.
way better than pi, for $50 (or 0 for my old phone) I get 500mhz, apps, WiFi, gps, accelerometers, touchscreen, battery, card slot, another $50 at sparkfun gets me all the breakout usb io I want 'cept hdmi.
in this re-issue apple have broadened the claims to include a 'beacon'.
GPS was not mentioned in the claims of the original patent, and the claims are the only part you can use to control what others do.
somehow apple got the patent expanded well after the issue, the original claims require a location specific object (quite obviously a satellite is not a earth location specific object)
So your advocating port 80 neutrality only? That'd be www neutrality not net neutrality
If they are allowed to set priorities for different traffic, how is this a net neutrality bill?
Lots of signage (eg "dinning --->"), a printed schedule (eg "12:30 be in dinning") and a watch (maybe with alarms?).
We already have incompetent people killing others in mundane situations due to carelessness and incompetence
What better way for someone to get the department to stop using cameras?
Were not.
How much will it cost to make sure everyone sees it??
So my website goes down everytime I'm not in wifi range?
Why? What were you going to do with it?

sugata has done the research, you just need to impliment it
I would not use an isp that thought they had the right to alter my free and unfettered access to the internet in a y way shape or form.
the catch is the copyright trolls still run the internet
they are usually well designed. this is not.
I tried to post a link to the article on Facebook, but it refused, claiming it had been flagged as abusive, Wtf!

Way to miss the point, again, Microsoft.
I can only assume this is another example of bureaucracy and accountants getting in the way of tech.
Good.

I'm from Tasmania, where our most recognisably tasmanian icon the Tasmanian Devil(TM) (since we killed the Tigers) is trademarked by a US company
