    Thankfully, someone finally speaks the truth. The Brits suck at crime, commiting it, stopping it, or figuring out the why of it. Americans have always been more likely to kill you. Look at the crime rate for Ma, an A- according to the Brady campaign, and then (comparing population too) Vermont where you do not even need a permit. The reason? Criminals commit crimes, not inanimate objects. I wonder what kind of feel good useless law will come from this.

    Yep, it's always easier to punish the law abiding folks who just want to exercise the rights than actually try to reduce crime. Makes sheep feel better, even though they are less safe in reality.

    I would agree that it's funny, but it't too close to true. It's a matter of time before someone in the RIAA or MPAA jumps that particular fence.

    While it's probably true that most XP users have it set to auto-patch (probably overall a good thing) it's also true that any crack for DRM lic, will appear almost simultaneously.

    Exactly! Surely Microsoft can see that they need to "protect the rest of the internet" and ignore the wishes of their customers. They must surely be insane! I can't believe they don't instantly follow this advice, right now!

    No kidding. The McCult vs the mApolgists, while the rest of the readers look on, bewildered at the venom and bizzare opines spewed forth as fact. Most people can see why it's usefull, and most people can see why it was a cool idea. No one will be swayed by someone online telling them they don't need it, or rehashing a tired joke. The people who want a dual boot will, the folks who don't care have already stopped reading.

    true with anything and not a comment on the inherent value of the OS. It will be interesting to see the zealots on both sides of the fence react though. Until it gets boring that is. I for one and happy about it, not surprised at all, but happy anyway.
