    The FCC needs to be given authority to fine tech companies for security problems. $1 per model shipped for the first offense and doubled for each additional offense within a given time period.

    Actually, almost all programs on .NET run about 10% faster, but are about 20% larger on disk.

    Privacy Badger is the closest that I have found to what you are asking. And it's curated by the EFF.

    I find Privacy Badger to be almost as effective as NoScript, but completely automated for putting on other people's computers. I just show them how to turn it off and then tell them if the site's not working and it's a big name site that you trust, then you can turn it off.

    It's worked pretty well.

    Windows is hibernating. Your bootloader is still there, but you won't see it until you turn off fast startup or do a restart.

    There have been only 25 leap seconds since 1972 (43 years). Why don't we just add 1-3 seconds on leap day instead? Time's already screwed up that day anyway.

    And yes, these types of attacks have led to wars where Hindus and Buddhist (monks!) are now attacking Muslims back.

    I used to go to Fry's all the time on Black Friday. My team of friends would figure out what we all wanted and spread out to all the departments with tactical precision, got in line before there was a line and were out of there in 30 minutes including shopping time.

    The worst experience I had was a Mexican woman trying to take something literally out of my hand as I was holding it. Fortunately, my grip is stronger than it looks. Oh, and I got double parked once, but the car was a stick and the windows were rolled down, so I just moved him somewhere else and left.

    About 20 years ago, I got $2000 worth of stuff for $1000 with $600 in rebates.

    I've gotten a Brother P-Touch labeler for free, an A&D blood pressure monitor free, etc. I still use many of these products all the time.

    So yeah, back then, totally worth it. But every year the deals have gotten worse, to the point where now, it's a completely phony sale and definitely not worth getting up early for.

    Hard to believe that anyone actually believes this. But a sucker is born every minute.

    American Thanksgiving was specifically to take a day after harvest and thank God for his blessings. Today we can thank him for the many blessings most of us share.
