    Except that Windows 10 is much better than Windows 8. Although I agree that I slightly like Windows 7 better, but not enough to forgo a free upgrade and more years of bugfix support.

    Or you can just wait a month and get one with Windows 10. Has all of the speed improvements of Windows 8 and most of the Fisher Price stuff is gone and you can easily delete everything else (tiles in the Start Menu) and make it look and act like Windows 7,

    I just got color laser cartridges for my HP from Amazon. They are not "official", but I have had no problems with them. Of course, I made sure to get the highest-rated generics, which were about $20 more than the lowest-rated, but still $180 cheaper than the "official" HP ones. Other than the HP driver complaining vehemently about my fake cartridges, there have been no problems.

    You could shut down the update service and set it to Disabled until you want to install updates.

    Me too. I hated 8.x and refused to use it. I'm happy with Windows 10 as the successor to Windows 7.

    If you really bricked it, it's a brick. You can't install anything on it anymore.

    I've never had explorer.exe crash. I have an Atheros WiFi chip in my laptop and have no problems. I'm not using WPA2-Enterprise, so maybe that's not quite baked yet. I have an SSD and have experienced no defragging.

    Windows HAS given repeated guarantees that we will not have to pay for subscriptions for Windows 10. Waiting more than a year is stupid if you have a free upgrade path.

    I think I've had an average of one blue screen on each Windows 7 machine I have installed. That's over a span of about 5 years. I've never had a Linux desktop installation that didn't crash so badly as to need a rebuild over a 1 year period.

    In Linuxland, every release is a first alpha version. You have to spend a lot of time with the developers online to make it work at all.

    I have a massive problem with GMOs. Nobody was allergic to "wheat gluten" when I was a kid. I never heard of such a thing. But as soon as GMO wheat starts showing up unlabeled, everyone's suddenly allergic to it.

    In America, we pay gas taxes on roads. But if you buy gasoline to use with your farm vehicles YOU DON'T PAY ROAD TAXES. It's dyed red and tax free.

    What IS Alpha.Beta? Is it a Java class or something? If so, search for "Alpha Beta Java" or "Alpha Beta Pruning". This always works for me.

    Microsoft didn't sue Mono out of existence when it first appeared. In fact, they helped Miguel on many occasions. Oracle would have sued him into next week.

    They never finished Windows Forms 100%, but I've never had an issue with anything I ported.
