That's not what they're saying. In the article they explain that when they initially arrested him they viewed child porn on his computer and he confessed to transporting it. But then they closed his laptop and when they opened it again some days later to examine the evidence in more detail, the drive was encrypted because he had a timeout system that automatically encrypted the drive after a set period of time. So they KNOW that there's child porn on the system and that he was transporting it. If you ask me he's obstructing justice. Of course, nobody's asking me...

Speed limit laws need to be made unprofitable for the government and then maybe we can get our freedom back on the roads.

What the hell does this mean? You want no speed limits?
I, for one, am glad that asshat speeders like this get tickets for speeding. Assuming the radar gun is correct, 62 in a 45 is totally unacceptable. The kid should have his license revoked. Even his parents admit he has a leadfoot. And his dad is a fucken cop. WTF..

  12. Re:This could only be the first step on GPS Used As Defence In Radar Speeding Case · · Score: 2, Insightful

That's exactly why this should not be allowed. Or I could hack my speedometer to always read 25 and keep a video camera in the car. "See, I was only going 25!" People are asshats and will do anything to get out of speeding tickets.

What I don't understand is how this kid is explaining the discrepancy between his GPS and the radar gun? The radar says he was going 62, but he claims he was going 45? How would that happen? That's a big difference when you consider the accuracy of radar guns. I'm not saying they're infallible but they definitely have a proven track record compared to GPS.

Why do you reckon this? Just because you assume something is illegal does not make it so. If I knew the guy down the street was a coke dealer and someone asked me who the coke dealers in my neighborhood are, exactly why should it be illegal for me to tell them, and take $1 for my time?

It's specifically because the Founders wanted a last-ditch mechanism for common citizens to protect each other if all three branches of government are operating out of the bounds of common sense.

The only problem with this is that once all three branches go out of bounds, there won't be any trials to begin with. Your right to bear arms is the only truly last-ditch mechanism to keep the government in check if all three branches are corrupted. That's why the 2nd amendment is probably the most important article in the entire constitution. Not that jury nullification isn't an important right -- it is -- but it depends on at least one of the branches not being corrupted.
