The problem is that unless you pay for a fixed IP address, your IP address can change at any time. So you can have one IP address today and in an hour, day or a week have another.
Most phones do not care about resistance across the data pins. Just short them out and BAM fast charge! That is how I was able to trick my Epic 4g to work with my palm pre touchstone charger.
There is no need for all the circuits and such... I made my own a while back out of a spare cable. I just opened the cable, cut the data wires. Than I shorted the data wires on the side that went to the phone. I sealed it all up and I can plug my phone into any usb port and it charges at the maximum output of the USB port. Does not matter if the port is 500 mah, or a 3rd party charger that can put out 1,000 or even 2,000.
E-Mail can just as easily be skimmed over. Several of my sister-in-laws college teachers basically told the class, "I do not use Facebook for school. All school related contact will be done via e-mail. No exceptions." They had Facebook accounts, and you could friend them, but any discussions, questions, or classwork was to be sent via e-mail only. Some student's complained, but the teacher wanted what was easier for them.
I would never distribute work or anything important through Facebook. With their ever changing landscape of what they think you do and do not want to see, you can never know if the students actually SEE the postings!
E-mail is far more effective and reliable. And if the student's do not like that, tough. In College if the teacher says to use e-mail, you use e-mail.
Content providers have only been doing this for DECADES! Atari did this back when the 2600 first came out. Sell the console cheap, and require all software developers to pay them for the privilege to make games for their console.
The Lite Edition - Only get software from the app store. The Ultimate Edition - Install software yourself.
However I suspect that at this point Apple may be willing to give up Unix Certification for the extra profit to be gained from app store only access. (Plus most Apple users do not care about Unix certification) Plus they could easily spin it as "Extra Security".
Apple already has an App Store for their laptops/desktops. Apple could easily make their next OS ONLY install software from the app store. And the sick thing, is that the apple fan-boys and iReligious nutters will not only accept it, but PRAISE IT!
I have many older games that span back 20+ years that I go back and play often. I have been forced to pirate or crack many of those games because the DRM that is used does not work with modern DVD players, operating systems, or were crappy DRM schemes to begin with.
It is really sad that I have to pirate games I own in order to continue to play them.
As if the standard connector was not weak enough, they want to cut it in half!
Why not just use a standard connector that has been about for YEARS that is 1/2 the diameter of the "standard" connector? You have the large 6.35mm (1/4") jack You have the medium 3.5mm Then there is the small 2.5mm jack
OR apple could just make a specialized connector that is flat (like Micro USB) and then include an adapter to allow people to use standard headphones.
Seriously tho, some teachers use FB to help students with their homework and such. One kid asks a question that many others in the class may have. When the teacher answers it, many students can benefit.
It just might. As banks try to charge customers for using their debit cards. And as banks charge as much as they can to BOTH retailers & consumers... If PayPal can undercut them, then I can see stores accepting PayPal,
And the general public will just see that they will be charged less for smaller transactions.
I used to go through the "Watched Instantly" start page in a minute looking for new movies and such... Now it takes SEVERAL minutes. to navigate it, AND I can get dizzy! (I would like the Wii interface to be tweaked to get rid of the sliding covers.)
Try to limit the distribution of the e-mails. It would require fewer resources to release the originals, but then everyone in the world could have full access to them in 24 hours or less.
So instead they print them out in the hopes that: A) It will slow down the flow of Palin BS hitting the news. B) That it will go unnoticed if a few e-mails are missing.
Then the school should not be involved. The school has no reason to monitor students when they are AT HOME. That is their PARENTS JOB!
The only time that remotely activated we bcams, screen shots and GPS should be used... Is if the machine is reported stolen, lost, or is not turned in when the school requests it. Then ONLY under the authority of the POLICE who should be the only ones involved in a machine recovery.
This is the best option. If the companies can't get their shit together, it is not YOUR responsibility to fix it.
The only time I have ever called on anything similar is when I kept getting letters in the (snail) mail from the IRS in regards to someone who lived here before me. (Like 2 owners ago) But I only called when I got a card on my door stating that this person had an appointment with a real person. THEN I had a real person to call.
Otherwise, it is not my problem. The company is not going to tank me for pointing out their mistake. And the person who is supposed to get the e-mail is not going to thank me for fixing it either.

Why do these solutions need to be soo complex?
The Mythbusters did an entire thanksgiving using a car engine as their heat source:

Corn subsidies make corn inexpensive. :p
The price of corn is not what is driving the meat prices up. Way to read the article.
Just the dick move that will give Sprint more customers.
Sprint the only big name that has unlimited data on most of their plans.

So this will turn TMNT into TANT...
Just add an "I" and it will describe this movie!
Than virus makers will be rejoicing!

2 different "editions"

But having to download a pirate copy of the game, because the DRM in the installer does not work is still considered piracy.
And in many areas cracking DRM is illegal. Regardless if you own the product or not.

using MP3TAG: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Remove all comments and other "red flags" from your ID3 tags. Clean up the artist, album and track info.
Make them all fairly uniform in ID3 info.
About Vinyl when the cassette & CD came out... However Vinyl is still rather popular.
Many people insist on getting the Vinyl version of an album over the CD version.
And I want Apple to defend it with all the power it has... So that only Apple devices are blocked and all other devices are unaffected.
